All fees are in URL I gave earlier. These will be applicable from 6th April.
Current fees are in below url.

Government considers this as money making business.

It always does. It is just a formality. There could be minor technical changes.
There is not a single MP who will raise immigrants concern. I sent emails to many MPs, local MP, keith waz, london mayor, business secretary, home secretary. No one replied.

ILR increase from 1093 to 1500?

Did Ukba get disconnected from reality???!!!

Can forum moderator make this thread as a "HOT TOPIC" and be visible to anyone visiting immigrationboards???!!!

ILR will affect hundreds of thousands so we have to create and sign up e-petition so that it can be discussed and contested in parliament.

It is simply insane!!!

earlier it was Tier-1(General) applicants, and since visa & extension both stopped by home office,
focus now is ILR
we tried to come together to form group to take some action in facebook group whose link is my signature
https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKITF/
but so far not enough people to commit considering cost involved :(

fms05 has spotted that the draft statutory instrument increasing the fees actually states a fee of £2,141 for ILR.

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2015/9780111128459

This is still a draft SI and needs to be approved by both Houses of Parliament. Write to your MP and any lords who may have a sympathetic ear (there are many migrant lords, to begin with).

That is not the proposed fee increase, but rather the maximum allowable limit that the fee can be increased too. The proposed fee is £1500 for ILR from April 2015.

New immigration and nationality fees for 2016 to 2017

Post by mkhari » Tue Jan 12, 2016 11:28 am

Today 11 January 2016, the government set out its proposed changes to the fees for visas, immigration and nationality applications and associated premium services for 2016–17.

Specific fee changes for 2016–17 will apply after further legislation is laid in Parliament by April this year.

The new legislation will set maximum levels on the amounts for broad categories of fees that can be charged by the Home Office over the next 4 years. There are no current plans to raise fees to the maximum levels.

These increases will allow us to reduce taxpayer contributions towards the border, immigration and citizenship system and ensure that by 2019–2020 the system is self funded by those who use it.

The main changes are:

small increases (2%) for visit, study and work visas
fees for settlement, residence and nationality will increase by 25% in 2016–17
targeted increases have been applied to premium services, such as the priority visa service

Fees for all sponsorship categories will stay at the current rates.

The new fees for applications can be found in the fees table.

You can read more about additional changes in the Fees Order

From the fee table, it states that the current fee (2015-2016) is £925 for naturalisation (British Citizenship). I could swear that most of us paid £1005. So what is the Home Office on about because that table is so inaccurate.(https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 016-17.pdf)

£925 PLUS £80 ceremony fee = £1005

WOW  , last year and this year, there seems to be massive fee hikes. I recall the ILR fees going up by probably £30-£50 every year (don't quote me on that) for the last ten years. In April 2015, it shot up from £1,093 to £1,500, a £407 increase, the biggest ever. This years proposed fee is now £1,875, yet another £375 hike.

Was lucky to book a ILR PEO at the old fee of £1093 (plus £400 premium fee, so total £1493) having advanced booked it and changing dates for the one needed, otherwise it would have cost £1900.

Now, BC this year will cost £1,236 if the proposed fee goes ahead, up from £1005.

The government has indicated that it is aiming to move towards a user-pays approach to public funding rather than funding through public taxation.

It has the stated aim of making the immigration service self-funding. And as EEA citizens can not be charged any meaningful amount, the burden falls disproportionately on non-EEA citizens. I expected citizenship application fees to increase much more significantly as that is the one fee that EEA citizens are not exempt from and that many are applying for in fear of a Brexit. Then again, the government is increasing the legal maximum for both naturalisation and registration fees to £1500. So, it will be able to increase fees even mid-year if it feels the need to.

The user pays approach is also being applied to policing, transport (via rail fare increases) and the criminal justice system (through cuts in legal aid).

And with the lack of any opposition with any rational, sensible plans (both Corbynite Labour and the SNP have plans that appeal to the emotions, but not to the rational mind) and the decimation of the moderate Lib-Dems, we are all in it for the next ten years at least. Then again, the new batch of moderate Conservative MPs, like Johnny Mercer and Heidi Allen, give hope.
