Australia with a Driving With Excess Alcohol conviction?

Post by adamgough » Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:01 pm

Does anyone know if a Driving With Excess Alcohol conviction in the UK would prevent (or reduce the chances of) immigration to Australia?

Many thanks,

Adam

No, it won't but you must declare it in the application form.

DRINK DRIVING

Post by Nix1980 » Mon Apr 21, 2008 3:16 pm

Hi, I am a qualified mental health nurse and would like to emigrate to Australia. I also have a 3 year old drink driving conviction.Received a 1 year ban. It was my first and only conviction. 3 questions:
1) What are my chances of getting a permanent residence visa given that I am being sponsored by a hospital group, passed the medical and have obtained professional registration?
2) What kind of information should I include (apart from the police clearance)in a letter to explain the conviction.
3) How old can a police clearance certificate be for it to be of use when emigrating to australia? mine is from march 2006.

sorry for repeating adamgough's question.
