How long between skills assessment and EOI?

How long between skills assessment and EOI?

I am about to start the process of preparing an ACS skills assessment and then submitting an EOI for Aus Skilled Independent.

It looks like the skills assessment is valid for 2 years. How long can I wait before submitting an EOI?
