Maintain yourself financially while you are on Visitor Visa?

I am applying visitor visa and there is the subject question in 48R form. Can any one tell how much funds required for visitor visa to show on bank statements and also if some one has son or daughter on PR and Citizen what documents they should need to send for submission of 48R. Thanks for help in answering this question.
