Hi there,
I am a UK citizen and completed a geology degree (BSc) and geology masters degree (MSc) in the UK but for the last 3 years I have been working as a New Media manager which is basically internet and mobile phone marketing. I am interested in a skilled-designated area sponsored application to Australia as I have an aunt who lives in north Queensland.
I'm not sure if my occupation falls in Marketing Specialist or under IT (if it fits in any category at all).
Does the fact that my qualifications are in science rather than marketing, say, mean that I can't pass the necessary skills assessment?? Do your academic qualifications have to be directly related to your job?
ACS seem relatively clear that to be considered for an IT assessment my degree must have had an IT element. The VETASSES is less clear and just says they will assess the suitability of my degree to my nominated occupation.
I am a bit confused and would like some advice if anyone out there can help
Thanks
Colin
