5 year QP for british Citizenship

Post by nashaikh84 » Wed May 07, 2014 10:06 pm

Hi All

i first arrived in UK in 2003, and stayed in UK until jan 2012 with only 4 weeks holidays every year. i got my indefinite in 2010 and also received 5 points and fine on my driving license from court as well for that reason my BC application was refused in 2011 and i received a letter from home office saying i can re-apply in mar 2015 once my conviction has been spent however due to new rules in december 2013 i believe i have been told by one of the NCS council that i will be ok to apply now, can you please confirm that.

my 2nd question is after jan 2012 i went out to Malaysia to spend time with my mum as she was very depressed as i had been living away from her for past 9 years and she is a diabetic and blood pressure patient, she really wanted me to stay will for a longer period which i have proof of her medical certificates. i got back in UK jun 2013 and now in full time employment and my daughter is registered for september school session and my son is going to nursery. My total days in last 5 year out side UK are about 610 days and in last 7 years 650 days, as i have read the discretion for qualifying period for past 7 years i really would like to find out if i should apply for naturalization and will it be accepted or what should i do please advise.

If your absences are up to 730 days HO expects you to have been resident in the UK for the last 7 years and also that you have established your home, family and a substantial part of your estate in the UK.
In the final year your absences must not be over 179 days.
