Applying from abroad

Post by epps » Sat Jan 03, 2015 5:49 pm

Hello,
I was granted ILR Nov 2013 after 5 years of work permit. I'm still working for the same university.
I will be on Sabatical leave from Feb 1st for 4 months and I will be at a Singapore univeristy during this period.

My question is, could I apply for British citizenship while I'm abroad? Will the documents I would have to provide in any way different than if I apply from within the UK?

Also presumably I would need to send to the HO my passports by post. How safe would it be?
Has anyone have experiences doing so?

No, I don't think so, unless you are the spouse or civil partner of a British citizen or intend to work in the Crown service, where the Future intentions requirement does not apply.
