Palestine was never a British colony or overseas territory and hence it is unlikely that your grandfather had a British subject passport (the status of CUKC was created in 1948 and BOTC in 1983), unless he had it by connection with another part of the British Empire (not including either protectorates such as Egypt or the Indian Empire). Do you have the document with you and can you verify that it is a passport issued to a British subject or CUKC? Can you also verify that it is dated after 15th May 1948?

Palestine was governed by the British under a League of Nations mandate and not considered a Crown Colony or overseas territory. Indeed, Palestinians could not be issued travel documents till 1923 because they were all technically Turkish Ottoman citizens until the Treaty of Lausanne. From 1925 to 1948, they were issued with a Mandatory Palestine passport, whose validity expired with the British Mandate of Palestine on 15th May 1948.

I should have raised the possibility that your grandfather may have been in Crown Service (not the service of any government body of the Mandate, but of the British Crown) and have been a British subject in that right.

On the assumption that your grandfather was a British subject in 1948 by connection with a British colony or by being in Crown service, he would have become a CUKC in 1948. Under the laws at the time, citizenship would have been passed down one generation by descent outside the UK and Colonies.

If your grandfather was a CUKC based on Crown Service in 1948 and assuming that he remained resident in Palestine, his children would have been CUKCs, but they would have been unable to pass on the CUKC citizenship to their children.

So, to summarise, it is unlikely that your grandfather was a British Subject/CUKC to begin with and even if he were, the odds of you acquiring citizenship from him by birth are close to nil.

secret.simon Thank you for your reply

I only have the MyGrand Father's passport and there is error in date (in my original post) it what was released in 10/01/1946
and as I know he hadn't any connection with another part of the British Empire
I don't know what is "British subject or CUKC"

another question please
My Grand Father (My Father's Father) was born in Palestine in 1913 and he was officer in British police in Palestine almost for 10 years, in 1948 he retired and moved to syria and still get retired salary until he died in syria
he hadn't any British passport or resident in uk (only in Palestine) and his parents not British citizen, neither my Grand mother (Father's Mother) had.
my question is "is my grand father's service to British Police can be Classified under crown Service"??
and can I use this to get british nationality??

As he was an officer in the Palestinian police, not in the British Armed Forces, I believe that that does not count as Crown Service.

As I mentioned in my second post, even if it is considered Crown Service (which I doubt), your grandfather could only have passed on citizenship to one generation outside the UK. So, hypothetically, your father could have been a British citizen, but not you.
