I think professional body needs to hold a british passport and u need to send ur baby's birth certificate along with the application form.Babloo85 wrote:Hello. Just a couple of questions.
Referee who signs the passport form, is professional and British but he doesn't have British Passport as he never needed one. Does the referee defo needs to have British passport or can he leave the passport number box blank ?
Second question is do I need to send the birth certificate for my child's first passport or does the Mothers British passport number enough.
Thanks

I didn't use them because I read the PO staff are not very knowledgeable so I just decided to read the instructions carefully and apply myself and it had no problem.T51820 wrote:Passport for: Adult (Naturalised Citizen)

In retrospect, I found the Check and Send service so pointless. I paid almost £20 (as I also renewed my daughter's passport) and nothing on the form needed correcting. I used the service it as I thought I wouldn't have to send my documents off - I assumed it would have been the same as NCS.
You live an you learn. I wouldn't use them again.

Not sure that's correct..in my case they could have put it through the letter box...but they didn't..instead they left a missed delivery card....I called them to reschedule and they said each individual applicant should either be present in person or should give a signed authorization and photo id to the receiver..i didn't specifically ask about children though...jaweb wrote:kunmun23 wrote:..I missed the delivery so rescheduled for 07-04-2015...btw DX does deliver on Saturday but we are away..they require each named person to be present or give a signed authorization with a photo id to the receiver....luckily due to Easter holidays, kids would be home..otherwise I'm not sure how I would have had them to miss school....they don't have a photo id other than the passport and they can't sign an authorization formkunmun23 wrote:Passport for: 2 Adults and 2 Children (Naturalised citizen)

They will just put it into your letter box without signing anything. I have never signed for my children's passports

Received my documents today. The DX delivery guy didn't ask for any photo id and gave me all four applications for a single signature...kunmun23 wrote: Not sure that's correct..in my case they could have put it through the letter box...but they didn't..instead they left a missed delivery card....I called them to reschedule and they said each individual applicant should either be present in person or should give a signed authorization and photo id to the receiver..i didn't specifically ask about children though...
Hopefully my documents would be delivered today..I still haven't received the interview letter
U only need one referee for passport application. He or she should be a professional body and must hold a british passport. U need to send ur previous passport and ur naturalisation certificate. How u wana send ur application? It entirely depends on you. But my personal opinion to use postal service. Either self post or check send.JTF2007 wrote:Hi All,
Can some one advise me how many referees do you need for first passport as a naturalize citizen.
what documents you require to send and what service to use post or on-line .

That shouldn't be a problem. Cos in the form it says u should send ur all previous uncancelled passport with ur application. Doesn't matter if its expired.JTF2007 wrote:Thank for your quick reply,Rahel1984 wrote:U only need one referee for passport application. Just a sub-question, do I need to send my old birth country passports ? one of them expired and I will be attending ceremony next week.

*** Note: Initial application (on 7 March) rejected by PO clerk as countersignatory's date on photo didn't match date used by countersignatory (witness) on the form itself.
Check & Send fee includes multiple submissions of same application (within 1 month) so able to resubmit a corrected form with matching dates
(She was naturalised in married name & full supporting docs were ofcourse supplied both for naturalisation & in the passport application).
It appears the official is confusing 'identity' with 'travel documents'; after all my wife is entitled to use her maiden &/or married names.
Her present uncancelled passport (from Philippines) is now rendered unusable; this is because since the date of her British citizenship ceremony (last month), she ceased to be a Filipino citizen. She is at present only a British citizen so issuing a British passport will not in fact create a second 'identity'.
The official advised she will be taking advice from the PO legal department & will contact us again soon on next steps.
This is worrying & disturbing to say the least; (it appears to be a side effect of the requirement to submit all uncancelled passports from all countries).
Hoping the PO will recognise their official is actually mistaken so that the application can proceed as normal.
