The home office phone number customer service is complete bollocks. I had called on 13th Feb and they said that my application was in the process of being looked at. They had already dispatched the approval letter on 12th !! For the amount of money being charged for this process, it really needs to be more efficient and accountable.
Not sure why the edit functionality has been blocked on the forum. Anyway just wanted to say that the ceremony has been booked for 21/02/2014. Best of luck to everybody else. Hope your applications are approved soon as well :)

I really think it depends on who you get through to. I guess they have a system which is a bit complex for some of the guys on the call.

What do you say to this, somebody's experience this; called in the morning she was told approval letter sent out already and later realised she did not ask what date the letter got sent out, then called again and was told application is incomplete.

How about that?

Timeline
Eligibility criteria: UKM
Method of application: NCS Sheffield
Date of application: 19/11'/2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 20/11/2013
Date of debit of fees: 17/01/2014
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 14/01/14
Date of receipt of approval: TBD
Date of Ceremony: TBD

I contacted UKBA via email on 12/02/14 to check on progress. They confirmed a decision had been made on 14/02/14 but the notification had not been sent. They said the confirmation would be sent from the British High Commission here in Ottawa.
Guessing the result is positive I'm assuming this will also be for the ceremony too.

Hi All,

Just called the HO to check on the status of my application. Have been told that the application is still being looked at but you will get some 'sort of a letter' in about a week.

What do you guys make of the above statement?

The poster may be confusing this with the passport application process, where interviews are standard.

Many congrats. I applied on 13/12/2013 and am still to hear from Home Office. I understand if your application is straight forward, the outcome is likely to be quicker as well. I have a CCJ and am told that they are there inclined to do additional checks that might take time. So wont be expecting a response until April earliest.
