Eligibility criteria: EEA National - PR holder, Spouse of British Citizen
Language criteria met: ESOL Skills for Life & Life in The UK test
Current nationality: Polish
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Camden
Date of application: 02 May 2014
Payment method: Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 06 May 2014
Date of acknowledgement: mid May 2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: late May 2014
Date approval received: 29 August 2014, letter dated 18 August 2014
Date of ceremony: To be booked.

This was a straight forward application according to the lady at Camden. My advice to EEA nationals would be to take the time to get PR first and then it simplifies the further process. Thanks for all the information provided in this forum. This is a great service. To those waiting - as difficult as it is - just realise that it might take 4-5 months to get a response at their current rate of processing.

Congratulations. Ur very lucky to have it quick as we can see other applicants waiting more than that. I applied week before U but still no news. I was expecting the news after 3 months at least but now got the hope back again to get it earlier . In shaa Allah I'll get mine soon.

Obviously being married to british citizen is a much more straightforward application, hence it took less time..but that's just my opinion

I think the HO too has exceptional workload now so they are getting the straight forward ones out of the way first.

Westminster advised me that it was likely to be at least a three months due to the passport backlog. Apparently, staff working on naturlisation applications were seconded to the passport office over the summer but they are now starting to return to naturalisations.

Referee Misspelt my name

Post by LILSKI » Thu Sep 04, 2014 8:00 pm

Hi Guys,

I am wondering if someone can help. I am due to send my naturalisation and I notice that my referees have misspelled my name wrong. Rather than Lilian, they have put Lillian.

Does it matter?

I will recommend to fill that page again with correct spelling. Because sometimes they make issue for that. Just a little bit extra work will save you from lots of tension and trouble. Thanks
