The UK is still a member of the EU so, yes, it does happen to recite as such on the passport.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has applied from the UK and can give me an idea of their processing times? I'm hoping to get my form in today. Applying from the UK but my Tier 5 visa is up in early April. Bit worried about getting to the end of my visa and being both citizenship-less and kiwi passport-less so I'm able to neither stay nor leave.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks!!

First British Passport Update:
Country: Philippines
Application Timeframe: atleast 16 weeks
Now at : 31 weeks

April 06, 2016 - Application delivered in Liverpool.

July 07, 2016 - First email reply from HMPO stating that application is undergoing examination.

September 21, 2016 -After sending email to hmpo for update they advice us that the application is now undergoing overseas security checks and it is the final stage.

November 08, 2016 - Email received from the overseas team which is HMPO Bangkok who handle security checks for SE and NE Asia and Pacific, (Finally we are back on the track!) They are asking for additional documents like Birth Certificates of mine and my parents, Pictures of my parents when we were newborns, History and Status of my parents relationship, History of the places where we lived in the philippines, Old post letters of parents and some sort of stuff. Funny how they ask for this which logically we went in the process of getting our British Citizenship last year (Which took roughly 7months) which we will never get if our application is not credible in the first place. We had DNA test with my british father which we thought to send them a copy as well. They will proceed with the process once we replied which most likely will happen next week since my father needed to ship some documents from UK via FedEx to organize everything before replying, a possible interview in our local embassy afterwards, hoping and praying that the application will be done successfully the soonest.

@gbarry any news from you? Did you receive the email from them regards your application?

Will post future updates soon. Goodluck to all of us who are still in the process.

Hi PCB46,

My fiancee is applying from the UK, born to a British father in South Africa. We submitted the documents and forms yesterday and they arrived this morning so it's a waiting game now. A bit nervous as they now have her passport, BRP and her vault copy birth certificate from South Africa (took us 6 months to get!) as well as her dad's birth certificate and her grandparents. Just means she is limited in terms of having ID now but I'm hoping it won't take too much longer than a couple of months. She is here on an Ancestry Visa until 2021 so we have some time. I would recommend getting your forms off asap, I reckon you should be ok because you're applying form the UK, seems to be quicker judging by previous posts.

Let me know your progress.

I will definitely keep you updated, please do the same if you don't mind.

Timeline so far:
Documents sent: 16/11/16
Documents signed for @ UKVI: 17/11/16

It's encouraging to know that they have taken the fee already, if you look back on the forum, some people waited months just for the fee to be taken so maybe the process is a bit more fluid.

Will keep in touch anyway.

Congratulations!

Overseas Passport Application Update:

I just sent all the additional requests of HMPO Bangkok today to further assess my application. They were asking for photos, hospital documents, and history of parents relationship etc... I hope that I will receive mine as soon as possible. I also hope to hear from them soon.

Hi guys, thought I'd give you the timeline of my fiance (sent from the UK)
Application: UKF
Application sent: 5/10/2016
Email of consideration: 10/10/2016
Biometrics letter received: 2/11/2016 (dated 28/10/2016)
Biometrics completed: 3/11/2016

So far nothing else has come through. I emailed the HO asking about progress as my fiance will have to return to the UK in January if his approval letter has not come through and they replied saying that since his application was sent in October it may be a while before it is considered.
Good luck to anyone going through the same thing. Best wishes x

Hi everyone

I've submitted my app from South Africa, my timeline is as follows:

Application: UKF
Application sent: 28/09/2016
Acknowledgement email: 05/10/2016
Biometrics letter received: 11/10/2016 (dated 10/10/2016)
Biometrics completed: 17/10/2016

No news so far. I requested my passport back last week - thinking I may get some news - and was referred to a link to make this request. The information on the request page states that your application may be cancelled if you request your passport back before they're done with it. I've decided not to tamper with it for now.

Today marks exactly 8 weeks since I did biometrics and almost 10 weeks since I submitted my application. Getting antsy as I would like to leave as soon as passport is sorted, and judging from a few other timelines most have their decision letter 6-8 weeks post-biometrics. For now I'll try and stay busy to keep myself distracted! 8)

Hey Rhiannonrj

Haha, my nerves are wrecked! I'm checking the postbox every single day as soon as I get home from work and it's become a bit of a running joke in my family. Where are you applying from? Please do post when you get an update, I check in here daily and it's great to know we're in the same boat!

I am exactly the same as you * Lol* I check the post everytime when I pass near my door, doesnt matter if its night or sunday hahahaha
I am Brazilian, I am current in UK, and applied from Uk. Just waiting for it to come back to Brazil.
I also check here everyday, because when I read any news from someone it makes me happy and give me a bit more patience to wait for mine.
The lawyer told me that it's take about 4 months to be finish. But I did it for myself, does you pay any lawyer or made the aplication by yourself, like me?
I hope don't take more than 4 months ....
