Thanks to everyone on this forum. This is going to be my last post.

Following my Ceremony on the 7th Jan, I applied for my British Passport on the 9th Jan, organised an appointment on the 21st Jan and got my British passport on the 22nd Jan.

From the date of initial application on the 18th Nov, it took just over 2 months (mainly as I was not too fast setting up ceremony (like private ceremony the day after getting the approval letter) or passport interview - to get the British Passport. Quite pleased with the overall process and learnt again that if one ticks all the boxes on their any of the UKBA process then there is very little risk of delays or even a rejection. You don't really need to pay for services (though it helps) to a professional but that means you will need to put in a lot of time to learn and be 100% accurate.

All the best to you all and big THANK YOU! for being part of my journey to become British.

God Bless!

Hi people, it's been quite while I didn't post here, here is my story: After my solicitors big stupid mistake( filling wrong form, adding a nonsense false letter to form about my situation without my permission) I had to struggle with the immigration system. Thanks to God and you guys, especially our brilliant moderators help I could get what is wright, so I was given ILR. You may see the chart about the dates about my BC application, what I want to say is that even if your application, letter etc is received by the HO nationality services in Liverpool, it could take at least one week for you case worker to get the letter on his/her desk. I was asked about couple of photographs by them and I sent at 14'th of January, then I called at 21'th of Jan, I was told that they received my letter 15'th of Jan. but is seems like the case worker didn't get my letter on his desk yet. It makes you think how big this building could be that it takes 6 days to get your letter to your office once it enters the building?? I can try to imagine how busy could they be, and I'm not blaming anybody here, but it's strange. Today I called again to ask about the process, I was told that a letter was sent 31'th of Jan to me, today is 3'th of Feb. so the lady checked the post service, and no, it seems that a letter was sent to me 4 days ago by my case worker, but it is not on the Post office system yet,, that means she says the letter is still in the building  . Sooo, I don't know what to say really,, again it's not a big problem, except that I can't buy my holiday ticket before I get a date for a possible ceremony etc. But it's all about the waiting waiting waiting,,, and do not forget to check everything yourselves guys,,, sorry to say but do not %100 trust to your lawyers or anybody who uses this sentence:" It's quite easy, we can do it,, here is our bank account " and even if they don't talk about the price,, just to make it sure that your case is handled with care,, check it online, check the forums like this one, which I believe is the best, ask it to different guys and compare all. I've seen 4 solicitors after the first one who was incapable of doing his job,, these 4 lawyers weren't aware of the new amendments, new cases decisions etc, but they all said it's an easy case, and I should pay them first.. Then by chance i found this forum, asked to different people etc so thanks a million people,, now lets see what the letter will say.. ( sorry for keeping you with my life story but it might be help to someone :) )

You're not alone there. I also applied on the exact day as you and haven't received my approval either. They also said the same thing to me when I called...

What else have they asked for?
I can't believe we who applied in the beginning of the month are still waiting too.
I wonder how many applications they received in November if it's taking this long when people who applied in December or even January have already received theirs

Not fair!

Guys my partner just had a big fight with me and he wants me to cut my relationship with my family otherwise will kick me out of the house,
I think I'm not honna be lucky till the end, he knows I'm waiting for my application to be considered so he is putting a pressure on me,
Last night I had to tell the police as he was threatining me,
Wish me luck as I had a hell of three and half years, treating me like a slave that has to follow his orders,
I'm so sad we have to be treated like animals :(

They want original tax returns not the online printed ones, also council tax bills, or doctors letters to prove my 5 years, nothing major. I'm on holiday at the moment have to send it to them before 6th march, which I will do when I get back in a couple of weeks.

See, whilst I wish you the best of luck I cannot understand how they prioritise what they receive.
I applied through the same EEA 6 years route 10 days before you did but I already have my PR, received last year, nothing else to prove and still ... tick tock tick tock WTF

I guess and I'm not accusing that most of people waiting from Arab or Muslim background?
I don't know why I've got that feeling specially after Paris accident. :(

'Home Office torture'? Really? We all knew it was going to take up to 6 months and just because others have been approved sooner than you, you think this is a torture? Get some perspective here, it's a privilege not an entitlement.

That still your point of view, and I said I guess,
I have the right to express my opinion as it is a democratic country,
Not because u have one Polish friend who is still waiting means that what you say is true, so you have statistics of all cases?
Then don't say not applicable till you have a proof,
Good luck anyways.
And by the way where you from?

I am waiting 3 month already, Ukrainian, case is straightforward, so why HO still keep the case under consideration?
Really unfair lots of people get BC after one month.
I understand that BC is a privilege but anyway most of the people will get it sooner or later but this forum makes us feel miserable when we see posts where people get BC in one month time

hahaha jpk you really made me laugh,
" We all knew it was going to take up to 6 months " actully we all knew that it will take less than 6 months and rarely when it takes 6 months or more, the home office r telling us is taking 6 months to give themselves enought time and room to process our applications in peack times. And yes I think is torture when you apply same time with other people with same nationality and already got their approval while myslef with a straightfrowad application I'm still waitign. indeed is torture.

"Get some perspective here, it's a privilege not an entitlement. "I'm not sure if you are the home office spokesperson or you are too naive but , actually I'm entitled to be treadted fairly and equally to any other applicants in the same category and is not a previllage. If they got thier approval in 4 weeks I should get mine in 4 weeks too

At least I made you laugh.
You couldn't have possibly known that your application will take less than 6 months. What you assume a straight forward application might not be to the officials, no matter how much you have followed the guidance or advice you have received. You say torture, it is a mere mild irritation having to wait a little longer.

How do you know you are not being treated fairly and equally to other applicants? Do you know all the applicants that are in the "same" category as you? I understand you are frustrated but this is not the place to blurt out your rants of "it is a torture". Be quiet and consider yourself lucky being in this position.

It totally depends on individual circumstances, how people feel about waiting. For some it is a torture for others its mild irritation. Everyone have right to express their views. This is a public forum. Its rude to ask someone to ask to keep quiet and so on...

Guys,

Please stop this! No one needs this. If you want to complain then do it. If you do not care, do not read it. It is very simple. Do not make the things complicated!
