actullay i got my return documents and a letter confirming that my application is successful and says do not contact you LA untill you recieve invatation letter..

my question is which letter i will get first and to whom i contact first lol...i am confused...

In my case I received letter from council first then fr HO.

In either case depending on your council and letter from HO you have contact LA. I didnt contact because LA letter said if you are happy with the schedule outlined in letter you dont have to contact us. They have asked to bring HO invitation letter and their letter when coming to attend the ceremony.

fm1011 you will receive your council letter first but dont worry about anything now. Youve been approved just relax and enjoy the brown letters to your door lol

Its great to finally get the lovely brown envelope on my return from work....Gosh I seem to now like brown envelopes, especially when it contains THE letter of approval of Naturalisation. Many thanks to everyone that posted on this forum. The information and updates where quite helpful.

just back from ceremony had a great day. Got the Citizenship certificate.

I submitted a request for return of Passport & BRP on 12/01/14 as I needed to travel to India towards the end of January.
Passport & BRP were received on 17/01/14 with a letter saying application is still in progress and I need to submit passport if HO needed to see it again.
Approval letter and rest of the documents received by post this morning 21/01/14.

Thanks to this forum for all the useful advise and best wishes to all those waiting for approval.

I do however need to find out if I can travel to India on my Indian passport until I receive my BP and OCI. appreciate if someone can advise? Thanks.

Congratulations. I can see everyone is taking my advice in requesting their documents so that HO can hurry the hell up lol

Well done, I should think you can travel on your indian passport as long as you have your indefinite leave to remain in the passport or a passport on your way back to immigration in the UK

Thanks apple02. I think the document return request pushed it up a bit though I was happy to go at their pace and wait for them to make a decision until the need to travel came up recently.

I have confirmed with a friend who works there that retrieving your documents has no impact on where you are in the queue.

SO please don't start a trend of everyone suddenly requesting documents back for no reason which will again just cause extra work within UKBA for no reason and distract people from their normal case management activities.

You're more likely to find you go to the back of the queue if your file doesn't make it back to where it originally was once your passport has been retrieved.

It's strange that no one has updated his/her status and indeed it's very quite. I m too still waiting.

My guess (hope?) is that the same thing might be happening that we saw a few days before Christmas. The HO hardly sent out any approvals for 2-3 days then they shipped a whole bunch at the same time and we had about 12 people post approval on the same day.

I hope this will be the case. However apart from approvals no one even answers my yesterday's question on approval letter so at the end I deleted it
There are very few 25oct approvals in the sticky thread though. Only 2 or 3 but their fee was deducted on 17th dec.

In my opinion most of 25th Oct applicants who's fee were deducted on 20th dec might have had their applications looked at/approved by now. It's just waiting to hear from them.

Say NCS 5days after approval is printed (just a guess). Say approved on 23rd add 5working days incl sat so may be 28th or might be tomorrow for few lucky ones.

My application was made on 25th but they took the fee only on the 10th of January!

Some of post 25 oct applicants got their approvals in 5days of deduction of fee.

first of all i want to thank my god because this was my second time applying,in 2011 my application was not successful and i was told to wait till 2015 so i can apply again as i was found guilty for driving whilst disqualified in 2010. and this year i had a serious trouble with the jobcenter for going university for 3years without letting them know anything about it. in my head i knew that's it i will never be British. but god had another plan for me. now i am British ceremony next week Wednesday the 29th. good luck to you all that's still waiting for that brown envelop you will get it sooner than you think and thank you all for update on what was happening. useless HO number and email i called them on the 21-01-2014 and emailed them on 22-01-2014 and this is what was said"
I have checked our records and can confirm that no decision has yet been made on your application" phone and email but the letter the date its the 15-01-2014
