University diploma - for citizenship language requirement

Post by LIUFA » Sat Jan 17, 2015 12:57 pm

Hi I have Lithuanian University Bachelor degree in IT, one of the courses (12 credits) is 'Practical English'.
My diploma is NARIC approved but its 'Lithuanian NARIC' not 'UK NARIC'.

Question 1. Is Lithuanian NARIC = UK NARIC.
Question 2. In case they are different and I do need it approved, what level would I get (B1, B2, C1, C2)?
Question 3. I could easily pass B1 or B2 test which is £39 (tried online get 80%+ http://www.englishtag.com/tests/level_t ... ate_B2.asp) while cost to approve my diploma with UK NARIC is £55.20 https://www.naric.org.uk/NARIC/individu ... ility.aspx. Which do you think I should go for?

1. No
2. Check if your degree is on PBS calculator and if it gives 20 points then you can just send the printout of PBS calculator along with degree. If not, then you need to NARIC SOC
3. You can get B1 or B2 but it costs more than £39 I believe as it has to be from an approved institute.

Hi akhurshid,
2. Check if your degree is on PBS calculator and if it gives 20 points then you can just send the printout of PBS calculator along with degree. If not, then you need to NARIC SOC
Based on this:
https://www.points.homeoffice.gov.uk/gu ... ment.faces
Which Tier would I be?

(High value migrant, Skilled worker, Student, Your mobility or temp worker)
Skilled worker? or it's irrelevant which category I choose?

Choosing skilled worker, it gets me 0 points so I guess - exam here i come :)

3. You can get B1 or B2 but it costs more than £39 I believe as it has to be from an approved institute.
Here you are right too, checked the site again and it's learning materials only.
I am now looking into this one.
http://www.cslearning.org.uk/
£125 - does not sound to bad, plus they have centre in Kent.

Exam or NARIC statement. Exam is the safest option as NARIC statement is not guaranteed.
