Benefits Affecting EEA2

Hi, I applied for EEA2. I have received refusal letter from Home Office with right to appeal. My wife is Self employed registered. she doesn't have any more work to do. i don't have right to work. can she apply for job seeker and housing benefit now even my application has been refused? Will these benefits will negatively affect my Appeal?
