Can i claim benefits, if my husband got residence card?

I asked this question somewhere else, and somebody said, I'm allowed to claim benefits but not my husband. But I'm not sure if I claim any benefits (Actually I already get child benefit and applied for council house) it will affect his visa in the future or not. I'm from Hungary and we live in the uk. His visa will expire in 2015.
