5 years to acquire PR.Perpglo wrote:Hi all, I'm a bit of a strange case. Been in the UK working for 7 years since Aug 2009. Entered on tier 1 highly skilled migrant (dependant) visa but am a Polish citizen by descent. Applied for and received Polish passport in Oct 2013 and then didn't apply for ILR in 2014 to save money. However, with brexit I wish to apply for permanent residence asap. My husband is now a British citizen. Can I apply for PR using form EEA PR? I was advised by the home office that I could but I'm worried I'm going to waste my money as I suppose technically I've only been exercising treaty rights since I received my Polish passport? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks.
They will only accept original documentation and they will return all the originals. You should not also supply copies - this was an old version of the document that had this requirement and is no longer in force.Poldino123 wrote:Hi
I have read in this thread about photocopying documents and submitting copies+ originals in order for HO to return the originals? Is this true? What happens if I only submit originals? Will they not be returned?
Your proof of identity needs to show you have been a Union citizen for at least 5 years.Perpglo wrote:Thanks noajthan. I think he can only sponsor me if he's settled, which would have been August 2014, so that doesn't help. He was on tier 1 work visa until he applied for ILR. So strange that the person I spoke to at the home office assured me I could apply using EEA PR even after I queried that I'd only been exercising treaty rights since Oct 2013. Again he confirmed I could, saying I'd been working here for 5 years. Anyway, I'm trying my luck, don't mind losing £65 and worried naturalisation is going to be made more difficult by 2018. Will keep everyone updated on progress (or lack thereof)!
Congrats dandodex! You're the second on this forum with 12/5/2016 documents received date. As a third with the same date, I hope to hear from them soon!dandodex wrote:Finally!

One more question regarding what documents to provide.
I'm EU national, been employed full time by the same employer for more than 5 years. I am planning to submit passport, letter from employer confirming I am working permanently with them starting 5+ years ago, P60 for each of the last 5 years and an utility bill or 2 for each year of the 5 years.
-My employer only does digital p60 and payslips so they are printouts from the work intranet. Is this going to be a problem? I do have an official signed letter from HR confirming employment for the period?
-Also if I submit p60 can I do without the payslips or should I also include those? And if I do, each one for the 12X5 months?
Any other tip you might have is appreciated. In the qualifying period I have also married a U.K. Citizen and had 2 children, I could include marriage and birth certificates but they are not relevant right? I am EU National so don't need the sponsor
Thanks
When my wife applied for her permanent residence (non-EEA spouse of EEA national) we used the prints of my P60s only and was good for the HO.Poldino123 wrote:-My employer only does digital p60 and payslips so they are printouts from the work intranet. Is this going to be a problem?
I did for my application just the P60s (last one for year 2015/2016) and payslips since then (April-July).-Also if I submit p60 can I do without the payslips or should I also include those? And if I do, each one for the 12X5 months?
I suppose it depends how long you've had passport for.Perpglo wrote:@noajthan proof of identity was passport. Does that show how long you've been Union citizen for? Sorry if stupid question!
1 year since PR was acquired (not 1 year since you got the card).Tony2015 wrote:Hello Guys,
I planning to apply for British citizen next month, but I received my permanent resident last July ( I proved that I working more than 6 years in uk, when applied for the eeapr permanent card) . I will need wait 1 year after the permanent resident been issued ?

Assuming not married to a BC.
I paid by visa credit card through a consultant. The payment form should detail which payment methods the HO accepts.eleala wrote:Hi residentdiva,
Would you mind detailing if you paid by debit card by any chance?
Is it possible to pay by a debit card different of Delta and Maestro?
Many thanks,
