Hi

Post by ISIL » Mon Nov 05, 2012 12:25 pm

Hi everyone,

my timeline is;

Application sent : 30/07/2012
HO received : 31/07/2012
CAO received : 22/10/2012
RC : Still waiting

My 6 months will end on 29th of November 2012. If I don't receive the RC till the end of November my visa will expire. Does anyone know that can I travel with CAO , i mean can I re-enter the UK with CAO and expired visa?

Thanks

How is that?
You applied in the end of July...

So August, September, October, November, December, January.
thats 1,2,3,4,5,6 months.

By 29th of November, you would only be at 4 months :S no?

But on my visa EEA1 , it is written that it is valid till 29th of November.
Do you think 6 months starts from the date I apply or the date of EEA1 start date?

Thanks

Hi, I am pretty sure 6 months starts from the date you apply for EEA2. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure. Can someone else confirm?

Hi all,

Seems there have been quite a few people receiving thier COAs in October, hopefully this means applications are being processed quicker than they have been in the past. Fingers crossed!

Here's our timeline:

EEA1 and EEA2 applications sent: Oct 25
HO received: Oct 26
COA received: Nov 3 (dated Oct 31) no right to work
Registration Certificate: ?
Residence Permit: ?

Good luck everyone!

Finally got the passport back.

My timeline:

Application Sent: 10th Aug (received by HO on 13th)
COA received: mid-Oct
Requested passport: 18th Oct
Passport received: 7th Nov
RC: still waiting

I think ever since the new policy that passport request has to be done online using the form, it has been slow for applicants to get the passport back and the new guidance says estimate time for returning documents is 21 days now. Before when the request could be done by phone call, I think it's usually around 5 working days.

Application was to switch existing EEA2 to new passport.

Application sent: 04 May 2012
Application received: 08 May 2012
COA sent: 14 Aug 2012
RC issued: 13 Sept 2012
RC received: 08 Nov 2012

So exactly a six month turnaround. Can't believe the passport with residence card has been sitting around for nearly 2 months before they mailed it out to us. I think it's because our self addressed envelope was used to return the EEA passport already in early August and they had to send it back themselves. Pathetic.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I have not received my passport back yet, but I just checked my special delivery envelope tracking number, and apparently, its been shipped out, so I might be getting it tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I won't be here for the weekend, so I won't be knowing till Sunday/ Monday whether or not I got the RC.

*nervous

No I didn't call them, but did send them a reminder email at the end of October that the six months deadline was nearing. Maybe this spurred them into locating the passport and finally sending it out.

ya well my wife is German, doing a PhD. We already had a EEA1 residence card, so she is exercising treaty rights. So lets hope its a walk in the park for them. We got married in November 2011, so its been a year now, and she had a EEA1 residence card roughly around February 2012.

Currently, I am on a Post Study work visa, expiring in January 2013. Have a COA with right to work , so I hope they have enough evidence.
