Hi,
I'm Albanian, wife Italian. I applied through marriage route. I entered in the UK on an EEA Family Permit, which I got in Albania before coming here. I was surprised today when I got the COA with no right to work(submitted marriage cert + child birth cert). I don't really mind as I'm already working full time(presented to the employer NINo, the letter from HO confirming application received and Italian driving licence).
It took nearly a month to have the COA which as I see is not important, I'm thinking to ask the passports back so HO can take time as much as it wants. If any news come up I'll let you know.

Hi all, I'm not sure what to think about our case so decide to write here and ask what do you guys think about it? :
29.10.13 immigration enforcement team visited us at home
2.11.13 our wedding
25.11.13 EEA2 application sent to HO
26.11.13 application received by HO
30.11.13 received acknowledgement letter dated 27.11.13
since then we haven't heard from them and we didn't get COA...
along with application we have send: joined bank account statement, my payslip and contract, letter from children school, pictures from time when we were dating and from wedding, marriage certificate and passports. Also reported to HM Revenue (working tax credit) that I've got married, change surname and that my husband is subject to immigration control and after 3weeks they have granted it (working tax credit) to us. So not sure whether they check it with HO or not....but it kinda worry me that we didn't even get COA. Any ideas if our case should be straight forward or not?

I have got my NINO with a copy of the ID page of my passport (along with an original foreign driver's license, to prove my personal information was true, but if you have a certified copy it will be easier) and a CoA stating my right to work.

Hello everyone,

Today I got my documents back from the HO and the decision is positive. However, I didn't find any visa stamped on my passport  (Vignette) neither an A4 visa. Instead, I got a letter headed checklist with all my information and quoting that I my RC was issued on the 23rd of december 13 until 2018.

I called the HO in order to get some information about this issue and I have been told that it was a mistake and I have to send them back my passport with the checklist document and a covering letter explaining my situation.

I am afraid if it will take longer to have the RC stamped on my passport if I send them my documents by post. I was thinking to got in person to Liverpool.. do you think it is a good idea? is it possible to book an appointment there?

Probably you got the passport back as per your ROD on 10 December 2013. In the meantime the HO decided for the RC and 23 December 2013 maybe is the date of the decision. It takes a couple of days to issue the vignette, but who sent you the doc back didn't mind for that. So just send the passport back to the HO and explain the situation.
When did you first applied as you are stating different dates?

Sorry for the confusion, I applied on the 21st of September.
Indeed I requested the passport of my wife and not mine.
I sent the HO an email and I got her passport the next 48h.
