No you cannot. even if someone willing to sponsor, you have to leave the country for EC.

I reckon its possible so long as you will be switching within the same bounds as the original WP...if its not then a fresh application should be made and wait for its approval before you can start your new work.

Wrong.

You can change jobs providing you obtain a new work permit first. You can even start work before the new visa is issued - you just need to apply for further leave to remain within 6 months of the permit's issue or before your visa expires whichever comes first.

I think OP's concern is about obtaining the first work permit (which is new) from a Business visa.

After your work permit approval, from what I know, it is highly likely that HO will ask you to obtain EC from the same country that granted the Business visa.
