Working Holiday Visa Conversion to Visitor Visa

Post by misscheekycheek » Tue Jul 04, 2006 9:01 pm

Hi

I am nearing the end of my WHM visa (2nd October) and do not plan on leaving the country until the 25th October. I will not be working between the 2nd and the 25th.

What are my options?

I have looked into applying for an 6-month visitor extension to my WHM visa while still in the UK but am reluctant to pay the £335 fee to the home office.

Ideally, I would like to go abroad, and re-enter the country the day before the visa expires. Will a visitor visa be issued at passport control in this case?

When at passport control will I need to provide any particular documents? Eg: proof of funds, proof of my onward journey on the 25th and proof that I am no longer working? (ie P45?)

I hope this all makes sense, and thanks in advance for your help!
