I just thought I'd share this in case it helps anyone else seeking similar information. I wanted to find out whether I would be permitted to travel to Finland for tourism purposes, if I currently hold a 12 month multiple entry business schengen visa issued by the Spanish consulate (or any other Schengen Country Consulate) in London.
I received the following response to my email enquiry to the Schengen Visa helpdesk:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your email.
The Spanish Consulate issues visas for Spain and for the other Schengen states. The Schengen visa issued by the Spanish Consulate gives access to 24 Schengen countries in total.
You can use this visa to enter Finland if it still has sufficient amount of days.
Please note that both tourist and business visas are the same class of visa, type C and can be used for either purpose.
Thank you & Regards,
