Learn how to book an appointment
What is family group?
If you are applying and have dependants included on your application, you must make appointments for them at the same time as you make your own appointment.
The following people cannot be considered as part of your family group:
- i) Persons over the age of 18
ii) Other relatives making a separate application in another category
If the application you are submitting is a biometric application you must attend the appointment as a family group.
Please remember that you can book appointments only for family members who are included on your application and your original registration.
A maximum of ten family members can be registered to book an appointment together.
What happens if I can't find a suitable time slot?
If you can't find a suitable time slot on your preferred day please widen your search to another day, or choose another office location. Demand can be very high and if there are no appointments available before your leave expires, please send in your application by post. Please note, appointments are available only for six weeks from the search date and any shown beyond that will be noted as not available.
When are appointments released?
It may be logical to believe that an automated system is likely to release (new) appointment slots at 00:00hrs. Slots that are freed because of cancellations may become available anytime during the day.
Appointments are hard to find, specially family group appointments. The only key to success is ...... perseverance (or for some people, luck).
Is it mandatory for dependants to attend the appointment?
Yes, unless the (dependant) applicants are exempt from submitting biometrics at the PEO.
Does in-person application guarantee same-day service / decision?
No!
Service standards wrote:Our published service standards describe how quickly we aim to decide different types of application. For charged applications made in person at a public enquiry office, our service standard says that we will decide 90 per cent of cases within 24 hours.
You should not book any travel until we have decided your case and returned all the necessary paperwork, including your passports and any decision letters, to you.
Do the steps or information given above depend on the "type of application"?
No.
Irrespective of the type of application you wish to apply under, the procedure remains the same. How to book an appointment and the steps involved therein are independent of the "type of application" one may choose (e.g. - Tier 1 (General), Tier 2, SET(O), SET(M), FLR(M) etc.).
Does cancelling / rescheduling an appointment have any adverse affect on a fresh booking or an application?
No.
Can PEO appoints be swapped with / transferred to others?
No, PEO appointments are not transferable.
