Chances of getting US VISIT VISA for HSMP holder Pakistani

Hi Chaps,
I've been living in UK for 8 months on HSMP and earning 40k/yr(7 months in employement) . I wish to apply for a visit visa to US. Being a Pakistani Citizen and aged 27, what are my chances to get a US visa.
Also, how much funds I should atleast have for this.

Hi Vinny,
thanks for your prompt response and sending these useful links.

actually I do consider myself a strong candidate but have heared a lot about tight visa policy for pakistani nationals and especially for young people. Now, I want to an opinion from other people who applied for US visit in situation like I am. As my interntion is just a short visit, dont want to pay consultants etc for this advise.
