Congratulations!
Could you please tell me how long did it take exactly since you sent your application until you receivef your document?
Is it your first travel document or 2nd one after receiving indefinite leave to remain?
I received BRP card when I got my ILR, should I get another one specially for travel?
I would be grateful if you answer my questions.

My travel document application and here is my time line again

Convention Travel Document (Refugee)

Date of Application: 28/04/15
Signed for by home office: 29/04/15
Debit of Fee's: 30/04/15
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 08-05-2015
Date of receipt of travel document: 10-07-2015

And this my first travel document

You will need to get another one if you want to travel because the one you have before will have expired, it use 5 years but you can just wait and get your British passport when you have become a British citizen...

I applied for second TD after I got my BRP. First one process was just 4weeks but this one is about 9 weeks now and I didn't get any news. I tried to contact them many times but every time i got different information. Last one was last week and they said 72 working days!!! I don't know what they doing there !!!
And one more thing about British citezen, I heard they want to change it to 10 years from next April . It's mean you have to live in this country for 10 years, then apply for that.....

Hi, i dont think that be true, everyone can apply for citizenship 12 months after receiving the ILR.

My travel document application and here is my time line again

I need to travel abroad otherwise didn't apply for another travel document. I'll apply for citizenship in April 2016.

Thanks. Yes i sent my application on 12 May, this one is 10 years and unlike the previous one doesn't mention visa free countries.

Thanks to replying me, do you mean we need a visa to travel for any countries? Is it black cover? How much you paid? I remembered they said , we can applied TD like pervious one we had after ILR with refugee status!!!! Hope I didn't send wrong application.

You're welcome. Its cover is just like the previous one (blue). like the old one you don't need visa for those countries which are visa free for British travel document holders. The only difference is this one is valid for 10 years instead of 5 years. The application fee is £72.
My lawyer said for people like us who have ILR applying BRP card again is not mandatory because we already hold our ILR card with recent biometric record.

If you didn't get your TD by friday contact them ask where's yours. if you've applied for another kind of TD you should let them know ASAP and apply for the proper one.

I did my application 10 days after you applied. Just waiting until next week, hopefully come this weekend. I applied like prevouse one we had.

I applied my first time conventional travel document on 15/05/2015 but i didn't got mine travel document yet. i hope so i will get them as well next week. congratulation man you get it on good time enjoy your holidays

once i contacted them a month ago and asked about my travel document and they said it will take 70 working days which is equal to 3 months and 10 days....when did u applied can u plz share your time line....
