Convention Travel Documents application time experience

Hi everyone,

I sent my application for a convention travel document on the 26th of October 2015
The fees were taken from my account on the 29th of October but I haven't received an acknowledgement letter from the Home Office, that kind of makes me worried.
Has anyone applied and not received a letter of acknowledgement?
another question, do they send back the BRP and the other documents in a separate letter from the travel document itself or do they send everything together?

No I had none I sent isd with it, however I received a letter for biometrics on 5 October n got it done on 13th October since then I m still waiting

Nothing received so far, neither acknowledgement letter ( Though I'm told it is no longer given/sent anymore).
I'm renewing my expired CTD but I didn't not expect to take this long, but anyway I'm still waiting.
I have tried to contact them through the number 03001232241 but it goes into automation response, couldn't get any staff member for enquiries.

Hopefully I'll get it before 20th Dec as I'm planning to travel on that date very urgently. Fingers crossed

now my application is in the queue...the letter says that it would take 70 working days..

so they are still sending acknowledgement letters i think.

I want to go on holiday to america, I just wanted to found out if they accept a travel document and would I need a visa?? or has anyone been to American on a travel document

Piri,

Yes you can, I went to New York 2 years ago using my CTD. I had to apply for a visa whihh was about £100 and ho to the embassy in London. As far as I remember (maybe because I had been on several trips to New York before) they treat you with a certain amount of respect, although because of the demand there is a lot of waiting around for a process that lasted less than 10 minutes for me!

Not yet My uni has also asked me a proof of residency but i have nothing to show! I just faxed them a letter yesterday along with the uni's email. Waiting for reply!

Hi Ima,
Fax them and ask for your BRP to be returned, which is your proof of residency. This should not delay your application, but hopefully they give you both

Yes it is exactly the same but with 10yrs validity.
