European Convention on Human Rights.

Post by h.malik090 » Sat Aug 02, 2014 1:37 pm

Hi,

I have been granted Asylum in Jan 2013. I changed my name via deed poll recently.
Few days back I sent application TOC on Biometric Card for name change on my Biometric Card. I received a letter from Home office today, following is the extract:

YOUR APPLICATION RAISES ISSUES RELATING TO THE EUROPEAN CONVENTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS WHICH ARE COMPLEX IN NATURE. AS SUCH, IT FALLS OUTSIDE OUR NORMAL SERVICE STANDARDS FOR DECIDING LEAVE TO REMAIN APPLICATIONS. PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT WE WILL MAKE A DECISION ON YOUR CASE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

This is really confusing for me, as my asylum grant is till 2018. And don't know what above stated paragraph mean exactly.

Very confused and need help urgently.

Thanks.

HI, recently i have received the same letter which states as fallows,

Your application raises issues relating to the European Convention on Human Rights which are complex in nature. As such, it falls outside our normal service standards for deciding leave to remain applications. Please be assured that we will make a decision on your case as quickly as possible.

Any help appreciated
