Have i dug my own grave?

Post by ducklover26 » Mon Oct 12, 2015 9:40 am

Hi there,

1: I always had fully legal documents to stay in the UK. Current permit expiring 2022.

2: I made initial contact with local NCS, who said that it is a must for me to get letters from all employers.

Hence.....
I was overly anxious with my naturalisation application, that I desperately started to contact all ex employers to provide my confirmation of employment. Now this is what I received from an ex-employer (who is the NEW OWNER, THAN my original employer) when I requested him. I did not mean to upset him, but I did.

The copy of my initial letter, and his reply is enclosed.

Have I dug my own grave? Will this go against my application, if this letter does reach the HO ? I have not slept for weeks now thinking of this.

Ex- Employers letter:

Ducklover26,

I would suggest you seem to have a misplaced sense of the responsibility of
others to satisfy your personal requirements. I have no obligation to you
whatsoever however I am happy to help you if I can.

We employ many cultures at xxxxx and as they and I know, it is my
responsibility as an employer to provide them with any necessary paperwork
as a part of their employment but it is equally responsible for them to
ensure they have all the paperwork necessary for them to be legally employed
in the company and in the UK. It appears that you may not have the necessary
paperwork you need to satisfy the Home Office requirements and this is what
you now need to provide to them.

As you were not an employee of mine I cannot provide you with any letter of
support, in particular a letter in which I would have to declare something
of which I have no knowledge. It would be illegal for me to do so and, as
someone looking to settle in the UK, I would suggest that you might want
to avoid becoming involved in any illegal activity or encourage anyone to
become involved in any legal activity.

I am sorry you are having difficulties. I would suggest you contact the Home
Office and let them know you do not know how to contact your ex-employer. In
the meantime, to show my willingness to help, I will contact the Home Office
in the morning and make them aware of your position, your e-mails and
concerns and hopefully they will be able to contact you and provide some
more helpful guidance as a result.

Yours,

Mr Employer

Original letter from ducklover to ex- employer
Dear Mr XX,

I was the employee of the XXXXX, an organisation.

With respect I have contacted various ex-employees and they have been most
happy to oblige. I am only requesting for something which is well within the
law.

I only contacted you once I received my reply from the Home Office.
Everything is set, XXXXXX's employment is the only gap to fill.

I am only expecting a bit empathy which is legal within the employment law,
and I am sure that as a Multi-Cultural employer, XXXX would extend this
courtesy to help another multi-cultural individual to settle here, in
the UK.

Thanking you,

Ducklover 26"

You don't need employer letters for naturalisation.

Yes,

But is my letter too offensive to be used against me? for eg: good character requirement.

I feel my answer was quite clear, so not sure why you are choosing/insisting to include employer letters.

Used against you for what??

Hello duck lover,
Employment letter is only required when there are doubts over the fulfillment of residence criteria but if you have all passport attached then no need of employers letter at all. If NCS staff still insist then report that officer to its manager, ask refund and use other competent council.

Relax.
Don't over think this.

Your letter writing style & English prose is not an element of the 'good character requirement' which takes into account matters such as convictions, tax issues, notoriety & association with known criminals, etc etc.
