FLR FP Guidance

Hi,

My visa will be expiring in May 2017 and I was issued a dependent visa through my son who holds a British passport. My wife also holds a British passport and I am currently going through the 10 year route. In my first application I had submitted:

Applicant (Indian Citizen)
1. Employment letter
2. Bank statements showing monthly income – 6 Months
3. Wage slips 6 Months
4. Son’s Birth certificate
5. Son’s Passport
6. My Passport
7. Cash savings – 6 Months
8. Property Inspection Report – Estate agent
9. Land Registry
10. Mortgage Statement
11. Proof of address
12. P60 from my employer

The questions I have for my next application are:

1. What date can I apply for my next application?
2. Do I need to fill out FLR FP? Are there other visas I can apply for me get my ILR quicker?
2. Do I need to submit an English language certificate?
3. Do I have to submit all the above again and do I need to add any other documents to the new application?
4. Do I need to submit my biometric card with the application?
5. What is the NHS charge as we didn’t pay this in her first application? When and where can I make this payment?
6. Do I need to submit anything else with this application?

You may switch to FLR(M) 5 years route if you wish to acquire ILR sooner. This is subject to you and your spouse meeting the minimum income requirement.

Hi Obie,

I am going to complete 2 and half years on the dependent visa. When applying for the FLR M can I take into consideration the time already completed on my dependent visa or does it reset when I apply for the FLR M. Does this mean i have to complete the full 5 years to obtain my ILR?

When you switch into the 5 year route it resets the clock to zero. You can not add the 2.5 years spent on your current leave to qualify for ILR. You'll basically be starting afresh.
