LIUK is ONLY for ILR and BC.

For FLR(M) extension, she needs English A1.

Sorry your wrong she needs English A2 comes into affect from 1st May
But if your visa expires even on 30th April and you apply even 1 day before 1st May you still will be required to pass the A2 test
Spouse Application: 7th January 2013
Application Refused: 18th March 2013
Appeal Allowed: 29th May 2014
Visa Stamped: 7th August 2014
FLR (M): Applied in Person at Croydon 12th April 2017
BRP Recieved: 18th April 2017

Yes we are aware Yazzy :!: :!:

The OP has not stated anywhere in the post when they are applying and my response was on 10th February.

Any application from 1st May requires A2. If postal application sent before this date, it is A1 as the date of posting is the date of application.

''The requirement will apply to those whose leave to enter or remain as a partner or
parent on a 5-year route to settlement under Appendix FM will expire on or after 1 May
2017. A partner or parent whose leave is due to expire from 1 May 2017 and who makes an
application on or before 30 April 2017 will be subject to the A2 requirement if they are applying
for further leave to remain. A partner or parent whose initial period of leave to enter or remain is
due to expire before 1 May 2017 will not be affected by the new A2 requirement.'''

I believe if your visa expires in May you have to pass the A2 test even if you apply in April

The OP is applying in or has applied in March.

Which resource have you copied the statement from? The official Statement of Change issued by HO does not contain the second half of what you are quoting.
