FLR M extension

Due to changes due in April my partner will not be eligible to apply for ILR when its due.

will he have to leave Uk or can FLR be extend after initial 2 yr period given after marriage?

sorry should have explained situation better. He was original on a student visa the switched after marriage using flr m.

Due to unspent conviction will not be able to apply for ILR when 2 yrs on FLR up.

He may apply for further leave to remain (extension). Subject to New English requirements for partners.
