Pakistan spousal visa extension

Post by rihsabramo » Tue Jun 26, 2012 5:01 pm

Hi,

My wife got her visa last week 12th June from pakistan, she is coming to the UK at the end of August so just over 2 months after date of visa.

If she goes home for a month to six weeks or so for each of the 2 years to visit her parents can she apply for indefinite leave to remain or does she have to apply for an extension?

And when she does go home.to visit what's the maximum time she can go for. Eg. Is it better to go once a year for 6 weeks or twice a year for 3weeks?

Thanks

It should cause you no problem if you stay no longer than say 3 months in the two years period

Cheers, just checking as obviously she is already 'wasting' 2 months in Pakistan now. Anyway we can always apply for an extension!

Thanks

She is not wasting two months, as she has been granted a 27 months visa . The 90 days she is allowed is to allow her to visit her family is over a 24 months beginning from the date she enters UK.

There is no fast rule about teh length of time you can spend outside UK before you have to apply for FLR(extension). It all boils down to the reasons why you spent it out of UK.

Yes she you can apply for FLR if she spends a lot of time out of UK
