I am planning to contact the British High Commission office in Delhi regarding my dependent settlement visa. Does anybody has any idea how long they take normally to respond to a query? I am planning to write to Delhi High Commission.

It's already 74 days for me and 52 working days for my dependent settlement visa. Still it shows the same status. I have dropped a note first to Web.Newdelhi@fco.gov.uk which sent an automated mail to drop all visa related mails to visqry.newdelhi@fco.gov.uk.

However the lead time for response is 20 working days. The Delhi latest processing time is 42 days as informed by VFS.

Please advise if I can contact the High Commission quickly. I am literally getting worried now. :?

Hello Everyone

Let me first thank all the members contributing to this fantastic board. It is a repertoire of core visa related information, hihgly recommended to all visa applicants. I have been a beneficiary of this site while applying for my ILR last year.

I am getting married next month and thereby have to go through this rigorous exercise of the dreaded visa application  all over again (applying for my future wife's dependent visa). Have got most of the basic information going through the posts on this site. However, I still have a query (maybe it has been already answered and I may have missed it), request if somone on this site be generous enough to either answer it or direct me to an earlier answer on this subject.

Query: I am currently renting a 2 bed place with couple of my friends (3 of us in a 2 bed flat, economizing bachelors 8) ). I plan to shift into a new flat post my marriage. So, can I provide the tenancy agreement and associated documents, bills, bank statements etc for my current address as the proof for accomodation. I don't think I can get a no objection letter from my landlord(that's another set of complication).

Thanking in anticipation
Best regards and wishing every applicant the best of luck

Hi All,

I have few doubts on settlement visa process, please advice:

We got married in November 2013. My husband has ILR and I have applied for settlement visa on 24-Dec-2013.

1. When and why interview will be scheduled for spouse visa applicants by BHC?

2. I am currently employed in Chennai and I submitted my employer verification letter also along with the documents. I am thinking of resigning my job now and spend sometime leisurely with my parents before I join my husband. Can I resign or should I be with the same company for any background check? I am worried if this will affect. Also I have not mentioned about my resignation in my covering letter.

3. I saw for dan_vels and sss123sss who also applied for visa in Dec 2013, it is processed and dispatched very very quickly. Is there any change in processing time now? Do you think I will also get it quicker? Just that I am not able to stay away from my husband for so long and want to join him soon :-( :-(

Applicant's application schedule

Visa type: Settlement spouse visa
Date of application: 24-December-2013,
Applied at - VFS , Chennai,
Biometrics done
Application has been dispatched to BHC: 24-Dec-2013
Application under process at BHC: 31-December-2013

Thanks in advance for your kind response

Hello Ramee,
My visa was also processed through chennai and they have recently processed it in a jet speed, just pray that they maintain the speed- good luck on that
Regarding your job, according to my experience and knowledge they are least concerned about the applicants job status but much concerned about the sponsors' status. So no worries, whether u continue or quit.
Hope this helps and best of luck.

Can you please provide a small list of all documents you submitted? My fiancee's application is expected for July this year, but I wasnt sure what documents I had to collect and provide from UK.

Hi Guys,

Just thought I would share my wife's experience with this whole process. We got married in December in India and I've been a naturalized British citizen for just over 6 years now.

Applicant's application schedule
--------------------------------------
Visa type: Settlement spouse visa for my wife
Date of online application submission: 22-Dec-2013
Date of application: 15-January-2014,
Applied at - VFS , Cochin.
Biometrics done
Application has been dispatched to BHC: 15-Jan-2014
Application under process at BHC: 20-Jan-2014
Processed application delivered to Blue Dart: 17-Feb-2014 (didn't receive a text message though)
Passport with 30 months visa delivered on: 19-Feb-2014

24 Working days exactly. Its quicker compared to most of the other applicants on this site however it's just in line with the VFS guidance as per the site

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... sing-times

If it helps here's a list of documents I sent through to get this approved.

Personal Details

Passport Copy with all entry/exit stamps from India.
Copy of boarding passes
12 month’s payslips
P60
Letter from Employer confirming my salary, contract type and start date
12 months bank statements

Accommodation Details

Mortgage statements for 2 years
Copy of deed from Land registry
Council Tax bills for 2 years
Utility Bills (Gas, Water and Electricity)
Home Insurance Documents

Wedding Details

Government of India certificate for wedding registration
Wedding card
Family photograph
Sponsorship Undertaking forms (SU07/12...I Believe)

English Language Requirement

IELTS score of 8

Subsisting Relationship

Viber and Whatsapp logs
Emails
Copy of mobile phone bills

I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone on this forum for sharing their experiences with us as I for one can honestly say that this would not have been possible without you all.

My sincere best wishes and good luck to everyone who is or will be going through this process and hope your applications get processed asap.

Thank you everyone !

Hi,

Me and My baby has applied for ILR dependant spouse and child Visa respectively. Please find our timelines below.

1) Application submitted at VFS chennai -10th Feb
2) Application Dispatched to BHC - 10th Feb
3) Applicaiton under progress in BHC - 15th Feb
4) Query from BHC chennai - 20th Feb ( My Husband has shifted job in past one year so he filled category B in VAf2. we submitted only 6 months payslips and bankstatements. BHC came back and asked for one year original documents. I think If we are filling category B we might need to submit one year proof of documents)
5) Documents posted and they reached BHC by -27th Feb ( Provided originals wherever applicable and Online statments for email only bank statement options. Submitted scanned copies of my Husbands previous and current employer letters)

Waiting for a response from BHC.

Please let me know if anyone has recently heard anything from BHC chennai.

Visa Type: Settlement Spouse Visa
Applied: 18/03/2014
At: VFS New Delhi
Visa Stamped: 26/03/2014

Six working days is all it took. That plus a previous rejection on the most ridiculous grounds plus a looooong wait plus working with excellent lawyers plus an application folder well over three inches thick.

Good luck to all applicants. Don't let a refusal bring you down. Reapply.

I just checked my mrs email and there was an email send ot her on 4th March relating to the visa. I just check her email to get the ref number and this was there...

It says "Your application falls to be refused solely because you do not meet the income threshold requirement under Appendix FM and the related evidential requirements under Appendix FM-SE."

I earn £27500 as a basic pay and with overtime i earned nearly £36000 over that year. i included 13 months or payslips and 13 months or bank statements to prve it. and noe they need a letter as well from my employer stating the damn obivious.. For F*** sakes.. how dum are they...

"You have not submitted a letter as required containing these details. A decision on your application has therefore been put on hold until the Courts have decided the outcome of the Secretary of State’s appeal in a legal challenge to the income threshold requirement. More information about this hold on decisions is set out on the Home Office’s Immigration website."

Does any one know how to send them addidional documents to prove this. There is a number on the document, when i called it sasys number dosent exist. number given T: +91 (0) 11 44 4219 2151.

Anyone know what i need to do or which route to take.. pleas help...
