we applied on 11th august and submit on 20th august 2014. Our application still hasnt been looked at and is still in the ECOs queue.

My wife is pregnant, due in Jan sometime. She wont be able to fly come december, so its quite tight.

What do i need to do to get my child over from pakistan afyer birth to the UK, asap? some people here have applied for right of abode. how long does it take, how do i apply and what documents are needed?

I plan to go to pakistan for my wifes delivery and want to have the documents and application all ready to go so that we can apply from there.
BHC will be on holiday mid Dec-mid Jan anyway, so don't worry about a response then. You have 20 days left, if you don't get a "processed" email in the next 10, you can relax, as you have plenty of time before they'll "actually" continue processing (till late Jan).

My advice would be to get the childs British passport made ASAP. Then you will have no further worries in the future with regards to him/her. I'm not sure of the other ways, but there is one other at least. I got my girls British passport made ASAP after birth.

It sounds complicated but it's simple, and you just have to follow everything in order, one by one.

Get your child registered under your name at NADRA
Family Registration, FRC and CRC done at NADRA (see their requirements in PK, they'll tell you)
Photos of child will need to be taken (passport at a professional shop)
Best to have a photo of you and wifey with the child there too
Full details of child birth, the midwife details, proof of birth at that hospital, pre-natal wife scans and hospital records of the wife will be needed
Then get a birth certificate by that Union Council and it MUST be the Union Council you are registered at
Then go to BHC Islamabad, and apply for the childs British passport
4-8 weeks, if your details are all right, child will get it and you can bring the child to the UK or leave the child there
It'll be British, by descent, as it will be registered under your name (and you are a British citizen)
DO NOT get it registered under the wife's name - that will make the child a Pakistani in the records.

I'm still hoping to travel with my spouse in the first week of January, bought tickets and everything. Didn't know about the backlog at the time of applying.
I'm not xD

I'm only sure - God willing - about my girls traveling date.

I have no idea what will happen with my wife's visa yet, or her travel date. But my daughter can't stay there any longer.

I visit my wife 4x a year. No matter how hard it is, I have to think about her side as she's my responsibility and she has many rights too. Last November, she became ill and I visited her for 4 days at £3200 cost, emergency ticket, that was crazy. Couldn't get work holidays. Got 3 and pulled a day sicky.

I got an email this morning which read - "This is an email to confirm that your UK visa application has been processed and will now be returned to the Visa Application Centre.
You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre when your passport and documents are ready for collection."

InshaAllah it will have been granted! Now just have to wait till Lahore VAC contact us to say its ready for collection!

Applied on 5th June!

Salaam Ket1.. theres 2 forms to fill by hand - VAF personal details form and VAF4A Appendix 2 form.. these 2 you fill out by hand and you do the online form at Visa4uk site where you book appointment and pay the fee.

Hope this helps.

Looking at the current there here - it seems not even May-June applicants are being processed yet:-(
Are there any June/July applicants who hav had a reply.

InshaAllah a positive decision soooon.
I have had a reply saying decision has been made but I have not had my documents back? But we have had no phone call or email saying it has been processed.. So case was escalated on Monday.. Waiting for a reply now

Ask your husband to go to VAC for collection of your passport, it will be there at the VAC by now. Don't wait for call.

you have just answered your own question :)

if applying from pakistan you can only do it online via visa4uk website and then print off and send with appendix 2 form (which is completed by hand)
