Wife only had to take appointment letter, passport and some photos with her. She took copies of everything just in case so they didn't rip her off. I'm waiting for some final documents and then will send everything to Sheffield.

I pray everyone's application is successful, please remember us in your duas also.
That's like £230 more than what you would have paid in pounds.

I emailed ukvi coming to end of week 10. They said not yet been assessed. Seriously makes U worry especially if its true. If its an automatic response then fair enough but we haven't had any update since they got our application.

By week 10 they should b in progress.

if its 3 months instead of 12wks then we got all month but I guess will b delayed

Received email after asking for update on progress of application.

'We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status and found that the application
has been processed and a decision has been made and it should be with you
in the next few days. We do not have the visibility to the actual decision
made due to confidential reasons.

I know this doesn't mean anything and isn't official so I am going to be patient and wait.
Let me know if you think anything otherwise.
Thanks

@naza - probably 7-10 days you will get the official email. processing the application actually only takes a few hours, because you could email one day and get the "it's not been processed email" and then the next day you could get the "it's been processed email". The reason it takes 3 months is because they have so many to go through.

Email ISLAMVisaInfo (Application Processed): 18-08-15
Email ISLAMVisaInfo (IHS Refund/Refusal): 19-08-15

Yeah I think mine was closer to ten days. Now they basically do all the admin stuff on their end and prepare to send the documents back to wherever you sent them from.

Does it make a difference how quickly you get your passport back between a grant and refusal? Or does it take the same amount of time for the passport to be sent to the VAC?

Hi all, just a quick question for those who have recently applied for the spouse visas and had to submit docs to Sheffield. When it says u should write the GWF number on top of every page, what did u do with the original docs I.e. Birth certificate, nikah Nama etc, basically the ones that can't be replaced. Did u include the GWF number on them as well, or just on the photocopies?

You will need to write the GWF number on all the documents, this is incase the document is misplaced and when located, it can be easily married up with the file. If you do not wish to write the GWF number on the originals, I would suggest using a sticky label and writing the number on this.

Hi, my understanding is that it should be 60 working days excluding bank holidays from the date of your online application as stated in the acknowledgement e-mail from Sheffield ukvi centre. However going by the length of time they are taking to notify applicants of the decision..they are not meeting the 12 weeks target. I would suggest that you contact them gor a status update when 12 weeks ie; 60 working days from the date of your online application. Hope that answers your query.

Salaam guys been following the forum for sometime never really posted anything though
I applied in July for spouse visa but only ever got one email from Sheffield saying they have recieved the application and a second one requesting a self addressed envelope to return the documents once a decision has been made
I'm a little confused as to what emails people are receiving when they say email 1 recieved email 2 recieved as I haven't had anything

Something really strange is happening. I received an email on Friday saying that my application had been received on the 20/09/2015. I applied online on the 16/07/15 and my wife had her biometrics done on 28/07/15. All supporting documents were also received at Sheffield via Royal Mail Signed For Special Delivery on 28/07/15. Why would UKVI say that my application was received on 20/09/15??? Does this potentially mean that my 12 weeks will count from 20/09/2015. I have also NOT been asked to sent a self addressed envelope. I am really frustrated now!!!! Its a Shambles!
Online Application: 16/07/2015

Escalted: 23/11/2015
VISA GRANTED: 23/12/2015!!!!

I wouldn't worry too much..it may just be a typo error. Once your 60 working days from the date of your online application are up, send a status check request to overseas ukvi enquiry team advising them of the date of your online application and processing time now exceeding the 12 weeks.

Salam,

Submitted online application - 2/10/2015
Biometrics at Lahore - 6/10/2015

I will Inshallah be sending the documents to Sheffield today.

I had a question regarding the application form:

I spoke to my wife and she told me that they did not look at the application form and just took 1 picture of her, that picture they used on the form which she had to sign at the VAC. The application form she sends me with her signature, does that have to have her photograph on it?

Thanks

Just to be on the safe side I would attach 1 passport size photo with a white or gray background on her signed application. It does state on the guidance notes to submit 1 photo with your application.
