Tier 2 Dependent to ILR Dependent visa change.

Post by japs411 » Sun Jan 15, 2012 11:44 am

Hi

I have a very confusing situation and will be grateful if someone can provide us with some clear guidance,

I applied for my ILR (10 years long stay mix of various categories) after 8 weeks got the ILR
When i applied i was on Tier - 2 visa (until Oct 2013) and as advised on SET (o) did not include my wife in the application

My wife got her Tier 2 dependent visa from Israel April 2011 valid until Oct 2013 (in April we got married here and she went back to get the visa as required)

now what should we do ?

1. Apply for her visa transfer from Tier 2 dependent to ILR dependent using FLR (M) NOW ?

2. wait until present leave to remain expires on October 2013 apply and then apply as ILR dependent ?

3. Any other suggestion?

Kind regards

have some confusion around my wife's eligibility on ILR

my wife was in UK on student visa and then PSW ( two years visa )

I was in Tier 2
we got married in April 2011 in UK and she obtained dependent visa(Tier 2 Dependent )

I received the ILR in Jan 2012 we applied again using SET M since my status was changed her new visa is valid till july 2014

Question
1. is she eligible to apply for ILR in her own right ? (two year dependent rule )
2. if no then when she is eligible ? July 2014 ?
3. if no to point 1 then do we need to do anything after my citizenship status change ? i.e. send another FLR (M) ?
4. if none of the above then when will she be eligible

the reason for my confusion
she has completed more then 2 years as my dependent
out of which
1 year as Tier 2 dependent
1 year as ILR dependent
and 4 months as British citizen dependent

so not sure how the two year rule works

your help is much appreciated

thank you

ILR to Naturalization and life in the uk test

Post by japs411 » Thu Apr 02, 2015 8:08 am

hi

my wife is now eligible to apply for UK citizen ship after completing 1 year on ILR

the question i have is around life in uk test and english language

1.
she has taken the life in the uk test but since then the new test is in place( she got ILR on the basis of old test)
Question - does she need to take the new test or previous test certificate is ok ?

2.
She has masters degree from Uni of Westmister - in architecture/humanity so everything was in english and was taught in london
Question : - do we need NARIC approval letter ?

thank you as always

regards

1. Previous test is still vaild so no need to do new test.

2. No. Her original degree certificate will be suffucient.
