U.K. Visa tax question Self employed

Post by Carl79 » Wed Jul 27, 2016 9:47 pm

Hi
My wife and I will be applying for a "family of a settled person" uk visa soon.
I have been self employed since mid April 2015, therefore my tax/contributions 15/16 will be due by 31st January 2017! My question is, do I need to have the tax etc paid before we apply for the visa? Even though it is not due until Jan 2017! As I have read ukvi can check with hmvc to check your credentials! I would rather pay it all in January as its thousands £££ but would anyone advise me to pay it or start early payments ? I do not owe any tax from previous years

Thank you
