Hello Shah jee.

Thanks very much for helping me out in making up my mind and filling out the application form SET(LR). I have prepared the apllication and all supportive documents required. However, I have noticed a GAP between Visas as below which is giving me a little stress.

First visa expiry date 30-11-2005
Second visa Received: 12-02-2006 (56 days)
I don't have any refusal stamp or anything on my passport. I have had applied through my college at that time and was sent to the home office before expiry date ( counting on college). Is there anything I should be worried?

I have also applied for SAR last month and still waiting to receive it.
Please advise. Thanks

Kind Regards
Bharat

Hi,

Am new to this forum. Getting ready to submit my ILR application, is there any benefit to using a solicitor? Does it reduce the waiting period?

Hi Newgirl ,

Welcome to this forum ,
Well i don't think so sending application through solicitor will expedite your case ...there are so many members on this forum who applied their own and they got approval with in average waiting time ....

If your case is straightforward and you think that you can do it your self then i don't think that applying through solicitor will make any difference ....
still choice is your .

Best of luck
keep updating us

Thanks

totally agree with shahkakaram ... if your application is straight forward then DIY is the best option.

I have applied in the middle of April and I am still waiting. I have been waiting for over 20 weeks now.
I call the home office every week and the same answer pending or incomplete. today I have asked if it has been assigned to a case worker I was told that it has not been assigned yet but it is with relevant department :?:
lets pray and hope to get our good news these days

Dear Shez1330,

We have an identical timeline and yes I'm awaiting a response. I suggest give it the end of next week before you do anything. We are only into week 13 since we gave our biometrics and on
average it's taking 14 weeks thesedays. Is your case straight forward?

Thank you

If you had applied in Jan 2014, you should have been considered under old rules and got visa for 2 years.
When did you get the FLR(M) decision ? If its not late, write back to the caseworker who handled the FLR(M) and let them know about the rules (pre April 2014 rules). If you go through the previous posts, there are people here who have done the same.

thanks Shahjee,

however we have applied for her FLR(m) in January - 2014, and it should be considered on old rules not new rules, not sure why they given her 2.5 yrs visa, but should she not qualify for the ILR now?
Hi Hardikjshah,
die_hard has very kindly given you his opinion, and if you remember I did pointed this out to you, that they have issued a wrong visa to your Mrs, and that you should have written back to the case worker who dealt with her case, and they would have realised their mistake and put it correct for you. Not long ago, one of our members Mrs was in the exact same situation, and we recommended to write back to the case worker which they did, and they got a letter asking them to send the BRP back, and they were issued with proper BRP for 2 years. But mind it they wrote to the case worker immediately after they received the wrong 2.5 years visa. It is worth giving a try to either fix this BRP to 2 years, or to highlight the issue at a PEO appointment for your Mrs SET(M) and make them realise that you applied before the rule change, and that they should have issued your Mrs with a 2 years visa. And hope that they realise their mistake and put it correct by issing her the ILR.
All the best.
Kind regards
Shahjee
Hello Members,
Sorry for my ignorance, but why is it better to get 2 years visa under new rules rather than getting 2.5 years under the old rule?

GUYS

every night someone messes up the google drive. its an excellent source of info for all of us but we need to be gentle with it. if you don't know what youre doing, can you please shout out for someone to add your details on your behalf. once your application date is added you can then add dates as they happen.

i think most of issues are when people try to add their details for the first time.

thanks for the cooperation and thanks to whoever has put it on there.

Hi Guys,

I was trying to fill the SET (LR) FORM. Got stuck at D3. Does it involve writing down every single visit abroad (Away from UK) even though it was less than 30days? I know I have not been out of the country for more than 180 days at a stretch. How to answer this question. A quick help would be much appreciated... Posting my application on Thursday! Fingers crossed.

Many thanks,

Getting FLR(M) visa for 2.5 years is under new rules. Getting it for 2 years is under old rules before 6 April 2014.

And getting under rules for 2 years means, you could straightway apply for SET(M) ILR as long as one has completed 2 years in UK as a dependent and entered before July 2012.

Under new rules, the clock resets to zero and one needs to complete 5 years to apply for ILR.

Go through your passports for last 10 years and write down all absences, however short. In my case I've put all my day trips to Europe as well as holidays. Probably the most tedious task in the entire SET(LR) application.

Please note you also have to provide photocopies with passport pages containing visa stamps or proof of travel.

Hello friend,

Hopefully this or next week will bring a good news for all who's cases are due. Would you be alright if I asked
you to share your 10 years of visa status in this country?

Kind regards
