Home Office did not send my passport they said I have to contact Sheffield dept to get my passport because I varied my application from FLRO so home office kept my passport at Sheffield department.

Does anyone have this kind of experience ???
How do I get my passport back from Sheffield department..

@ freeman0410.
I recently had interview . It's regarding English and LI UK questions only. Nothing to worry about, as you are not the only and first one.
Check my previous post for interview details.
Is it in Liverpool ?

[quote="???"][Hi VFF),

I have applied for ILR (LR) on 9th of March, received the confirmation letter on 11th. However, I have not received the biometric letter yet, paid by postal order to home office.

I received the email from UKVI on monday 23rd of March for confirmation and case process however still no biometric letter..getting bit worried.

Hi ???

It normally takes around 10 to 15 working days so there is no need to panic, ring HO 03001232241 and provide them your case ID (that came via email) and check with them whether they sent your bio invite.

Thanks

Mate you are the first one to be interviewed with TOEIC background (atleast in this forum).

If I was you then on top of what prashantsoni advised I would also prepare my self with the TOEIC exam process and what had happened on that exam day and the process etc.

i.e got down at ------ train station, checked the roll number, digital photo taken (i dont know whether they do as i never gave TOEIC), how you paid the Exam Fees, which date was you exam etc

There was an interview conducted by UKVI on the basis of past toeic history for one my friend who was in Tier 2 visa. They visited the employer and asked these question

How you paid fees (proof)
which date you gave exam (questioned again and again)
what pattern was it (i.e first reading or listening or speaking)
which station you got down. (how you reached the exam centre)
why that exam centre
how you found that centre (i.e google search, newspaper friend)
Anyone accompanied you
anything you remember on that exam paper

These are the question I remember

Hi Guys

It was a long journey and ALHAMDULLILAH I got my ILR residence permit today in a post, I think I would be the few of those who have his residence permit before any other documents. Not sure if its a right or not but does any of you reckon I should contact HO to ask where are my rest of the docs?
Also can i have there contact number!

Also I was aiming to get my ILR in May and got in march (bit early then i expected... (MA SHA ALLAH)) is that something wrong or home office is working too hard or they might be aware of that Im planing to pull out my application...lol

Thanks for helping me out and all the members are very sincere to this blog never seen this anywhere also answering questions so quickly. All the best to all.

I've got another hurdle to cross (visa for my wife), hope Allah make things easier for me and all who are awaiting to get there visa.
Thanks

Hi house

i would like to share my good news with my timeline, i received my decision letter and BRP today. decision letter came via 2nd class recorded whilst brp came via standard post.
Applied: 25 Oct 2014
Money deducted: 28 October 2014
Ack letter: 3 Nov 2014
Bio Invite: 17 Nov 2014
Bio done: 27 Nov 2014
11 March 2015 - HO wrote to request original copy of my degree certificate. Posted the original copy same day
23 March 2015 - HO phoned to query my certifcate and i told them they had my consent to contact the school directly to confirm my status.
23 March 2015 - Decision made
25 March 2015 - Decision letter and BRP recieved.

My case is slightly complex. I had continous stay from Nov 2004 till Nov 2013 when we (my husband and child) applied for discretionary leave via the 7 year route. We applied via a solicitor and it was rejected with right of appeal in Jan 2014.
Had FT hearing in 2014 March, the FTT upheld HO decision and notified us in April 2014, appealed again to UT and had hearing in May or June (cant remember again now), whilst waiting for the decision, i applied for my ILR when i was 9 years 11 months and 2 wks. 1 wk after my ILR application, the UTT replied and upheld the HO decision.
In this timeframe, i was made redundant, but then miraculously offered a higher paying job without them asking for my visa just my drivers license as proof of ID, moved home etc
My husband and son's case are still pending at the High court and i guess i would use my decision to vary their application
Praise GOD, indeed my GOD does wonders.

Approve!

Hi Guys,

I am a silent reader. I must start by saying many thanks to the members of this forum, you guys have indeed helped me with my application immensely and I received my documents and Bio metric card yesterday.

Immigration History;

6 years student
2 years PSW
2 years Tier 2 General

I only sent the basic documents;

Application form
Passports and Bio metric card (Tier 2 General) valid until August 2015
Life in the UK Test Certificate
Degree Certificate for English Language
2 Passport size photographs

I have renewed my visa so many times in this country and paid so much. I guess the same applies to many on this forum. I am so relieved I no longer have to go through it :)

Application sent:02/02/2015
Acknowledgement letter received: 10/02/2015
Bio Invite:14/02/2015
Bio done: 17/02/2015
Decision date: 20/03/2015
Docs received: 24/03/2015

Whole process took 7 weeks. I was a little scared because I couldn't read a couple of stamp dates in my passport when I traveled as these were done ages ago so I just guessed but it looks like I got them right. I also traveled to USA via Ireland and my passport didn't get stamped upon my return in Dublin but obviously, I had nothing to worry about.

For those awaiting decisions, I wish you all the best.

Hi Guys, a lot of helpful posts, hope someone can help me too. Want to apply for ILR soon but in confusion. Find my details below:

Visa Valid From: 05/12/2005 [Visa Student]
UK Entry: 22/12/2005

Absent from UK due to holiday 19/01/2008 - 03/03/2008

Current Visa expires: 30/10/2015

No overstays so far, My first visa was Student visa, 2nd Visa was Student visa, 3rd Visa PSW, currently Tier-4 student visa.
I have my wife as my dependant living here since 2008. My only son born here last year.

Q-1) Can I apply for ILR upon my visa expiry as it's not exactly 10 years ?
Q-2) If not, what do you suggest me to do ?
Q-3) If yes, what form should I fill up for my wife & son ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your helpful replies.

Hi, UK007,
I was practically in the same situation, but visas were different (HSMP dependent, Tier 1 dependant, first arrival on 11 April 2005, visa expired on 17 Feb 2015). I prolonged the visa and than applied 28 day in advance before the 10 years date. You have no choice but get the new visa or prolong the existing one. I asked a lot of questions here, but every visa guru told me to prolong or get the new one.
NO - Q-1) Can I apply for ILR upon my visa expiry as it's not exactly 10 years ?
get the new visa or prolong - Q-2) If not, what do you suggest me to do ?
NO - prolong, get ILR and then as a settled person get ILR for them - Q-3) If yes, what form should I fill up for my wife & son ?
Good luck to you and your family.

Hi VFF,

Thanks, it is a huge relief!

I did not receive any email during the whole process. All correspondences were done via post;

Acknowledgement letter
Bio Invite letter
Approval letter

Hope that answers your question.

I have a feeling you will receive yours soon...either this week or next.

All the best

Hi

I had interview on 20 March in London. If you had toiec they will check your English standards which test you submitted with ILR. Where is your interview. I had no toiec but they asked me about my IELTS which I took in 2003 before coming to UK. Who took my interview was very friendly he did say that it's long time before so even if I can tell anything briefly that's fine. They had some confusion they asked me that in took another English language test in 2013 which I never did. So he said that might be a mistake and it could be someone else. The questions they asked me
1. When did u last took any English language test
2. How did I book it
3. Was it only a test or whether I've done any course
4. How much I paid for the test
5. How many people took the test same test at that time
6. Did I book my test myself or someone booked that for me
7. Why I choose this test
8. How long was the test for
9. What was in the test
10. How much that test cost
11. How did I make that payment
12. Have I done a yogurt English test apart from that
13. What other qualifications I have
14. Where was that test
15. How did I prepare for the test
Few other questions which I don't remember altogether 30 questions.
I hope this helps let me know if you want to ask anything else. When did you apply for ILR.
