Good news, but Do I still need to compile my list of absences though, even if there are only around 30 paid holidays days a year out of the u.k?

Yes, you need to complete the absence section of the form as accurately as possible (remember HO have records of your entry/exit to check against).

Ok! I've done a practice run for my application form, photocopied everything and placed it all in a divided folder. I have included:

*6 months pay slips
* 6 months bank statements and savings
* Mine, my mothers and grandmothers birth certificates
* Application form
*LIUK Pass letter
* Letter from employer stating my employment and of good character
* 5 year employment history

Will include booking form and photographs when booked. Does this sound all ok?

After going through the form I'm stuck on two things...

On section 10.15 where it says give details of the British diplomatic posts involved if the application was made abroad, does this mean I need to say where my ancestry visa was issued or where my fingerprints were taken in Australia?
In 12T in Other purposes or reasons not covered by other forms, do I leave this part blank? It says if you are applying for OTHER purposes or reasons

Thank you again!

Section 10.15 - Yes it is where you had your fingerprints/biometrics done when you applied for your Ancestry visa.

Section 12T - not relevant to you.

Thanks! Sorry again but regarding 6.3 when it says what evidence has been provided to support the reasons for all absence from the U.K. Am I to leave this blank? When you calculate time spent out of the country do you start from the day you left the U.K (when passport was stamped) or the following day?

You can do a table of your absence or get a letter if you wish. Remember Set(O) is used for many visa categories who are required to submit evidence.

You don't count the day of departure and the day that you arrive back. Only count whole days out.

Ahh ok so if I were away for a weekend leaving Saturday and returning Sunday I don't write that down? Or go away for a ferry day trip and return next day I don't record it? Thanks

You need to list your travel, but you only count WHOLE DAYS as absence. Sorry, just realised I should have been clearer in my previous response.

If you left Sat and came back Sun, you write the dates, but days absence will be ZERO.

Ahh got you. So I still write down all dates I've left and returned but half days out of the country won't be recorded. When it says reason for absence I've just said holiday and where and passport pages do I need to include days absent?

That is fine. Doesn't look like a tally of days out is required.
