ILR Fees

Post by judydyett » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:06 pm

I am the spouse of a British citizen and and 2 children.
I am coming up to the end of my 2 year period and have to apply for ILR. What do I do if I can't afford to pay for my ILR, is there anyway of paying monthly, or at a later stage? and what will happen to me if I don't pay?

I'm starting to stress a bit as I don't want to be seperated from my family, but as I'm not working I don't see how I'm going to be able to get my ILR.

Thanks.

Unfortunately you don't have the option to pay in stage payments or to defer payment.
You could apply for Further Leave to Remain - FLR(M) which @ £550 for a postal application is slightly less than for ILR. This would extend your current visa for 2 more years. If your finances improved you could apply for ILR immediately without waiting to complete the additional 2 years.

They do accept credit cards in payment, so if you have a credit card with enough spare capacity you could use that, and then pay it off at a rate comfortable to you.
