Hi all,

As mentioned before that I received my ILR BRP, but was waiting for my daughter's ILR BRP, which is received today below is amended information in full detail for references for others:

I applied for myself and my 2 years old daughter.

Criteria : HSMP - 2 years & Tier 1 (General) - 3 years

ILR SET (O) Applied - 08-Feb-2013

Payment Taken - 11-Feb-2013 (approx)

Biometric Done - 16-March-2013

ILR Approval Letter & Documents Received - 23-Sep-2013 - ie. 159 working days or 228 calendar days / 7 months, 15 days. (yes, counting like everyone else :D )

ILR BRP Received (Main applicant) - 14-10-2013

ILR BRP for Dependent Received - 24-10-2013

So the point is if you have dependent(s) then BRP delivery can get messed up. I emailed to the UKBA email address twice, upon getting my Approval Letter and not receiving my BRP ten days later, they sent me my BRP a few days later. Then for my dependent's BRP and that too, received a few days after second email.

So, if you have any dependents applying with you and either one of you don't get BRP simultaneously, don't worry and send email(s) as I did. Best of luck. :)

Hi,

On which email address you sent mail to ? In my case I received BRP but not the original documents yet. Still one week after I received my BRP.

six weeks approx.

Post by johnnymotel » Wed Oct 30, 2013 3:32 pm

We sent in on 17th September,
My wife did her Biometric a week or two later.
30th October, courier arrived with her ID card, documents arrived same day.

Did everything myself. I organised all the documents into plastic folders, labelled each folder with the contents. Gave probably more than required for proof of address documents.

Our situation is fairly straightforward. I am UK born citizen, wife is Brazilian (with an overstay history...). I am semi-retired, no mortgage on house, minimal outlays. Wife works part-time.

We almost opted for the personal visit route, so saved several hundred ££. A friend in the village had her application take much longer and that was only last year.

hi I was applying for my ilr soon and I had confusion over one question i.e how long have you lived in uk for. I came to uk on a 3 year student visa in 2007 but went back in 2008 then came back in 2011 on spouse visa.so shall I write 2 years or 3 years stay in uk and what reason shall I give for my absence. I could not complete my course and went back early even though my student visa was for 3 years.i would appreciate help on this matter please.

You will need to show the main applicants earning, although I mentioned my earnings as well but I think they will consider main applicants earning. So you can mention both.

ILR Set O approval

Post by misticalwinds » Tue Nov 05, 2013 10:16 am

Hi all,

I have been a silent reader for the past few months, thought of sharing my timeline:

ILR approved on 30 Oct 2013

Type of application: Set (O)
Previous residency: Work permit + Tier 1 General
Number of dependents: 1

Date application send: 7 June '13
Application received: 10 June '13
Payment taken: 14 June '13
Acknowledgement letter received: 20 June '13
Biometric letter received: 8 July '13 (dated 5 July '13)
Biometric done: 10 July '13
Biometric cards received: 1 Nov '13
Approval Letter & passports received: 2 Nov ’13

On another note, I have a question for the learned members here. Please direct me to the relevant link if this has been answered before.

We had a baby in April 2013 who was born in UK. We did not apply for the baby's Pakistani passport as there were no imminent travel plans and also I was becoming due for my ILR in June 2013. In June 2013 I applied for myself and my wife's ILR but did not include our baby in the ILR application. I got my ILR approved in October 2013.

Now the question is whether I can apply for my child's British passport directly as she has not had any nationality/passport since she was born or do I have to register her first as a British Citizen using form MN-1 and then subsequently apply for British passport.

I have had conflicting information from various sources so now I am really confused. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to those who have received thier ILR, and good to luck to those who are waiting.

I will be eligible next year same time, and I have 3 dependants, 2 kids are born here. I am having Tier 1 General.

Wondering if you could advise about the Maintenance funds required, for how long? Also if you are aware of whether do I need to apply at the same time for my dependant as some of you did? as I have been thinking my 2 kids born here and I if may be drop them off for now, first to get mine and my mrs to get ILR and then apply for them directly naturalisation?

prompt response is highly appreciated.

Thanks
