Did anybody hear from speed120? I think he had a face to face appointment towards the end of May. 46 weeks just seems outrageous.

Got my Biometric Letter today and dated 13 June 2012. Biometric Done and will be waiting for HO response from now.

Still waiting now, 17 weeks on.

My wife got her passport back yesterday (SET M).

Timeline, applied on 21st February using the Settlement Checking Service. Passport stamped on 7th June. Arrived 18th June.

A 17 week wait.

I can't see the point of the Settlement Checking Service. The suggestion that it leads to faster processing times is clearing incorrect.

I have heard the same from acquaintances. Nothing but a money making scheme to rip people off. Probably helpful, if unsure about the documentation required to accompany the application, however, this can be done by simply reading the guidance in most cases.

Application for main applicant and 2 dependent (wife + son), application was straight forward at least i think so. 3 yrs on w/permit and over 2 yrs on Tier2 general. All relevant documents enclosed, SOC code, employee letter etc... union solicitor checked through completed application without any concerns raised....has requested for help from local MP, as staff UKBA are so unprofessional and rude.
Also I did Biometric back in 2010 when I applied for tier 2 general therefore I don't think I'm required to Biometric so again this time round.
I could have applied on 10 years residence but didnt as my family wouldn't have been eligible...
So far,apart from the Acknowledgement letter I haven't heard anything and is praying...for pp to be back soon....

any similar timeline with more success will be helpful to hear back....these forum are great!!!

Did u do biometric before ?
I have not come across a proper timeline for work permit&tier 1/2 applicants...I'm hoping to hear in the next 2 weeks as according to some timelines I have come across the feb applicants are due now...

Biometric was not an essential requirement prior to 29th February when the rules changed I think. Therefore did not do biometric. I have done redirection but I am wondering whether before that the documents have already been posted. I noticed that one person received documents back after applying on 24/02/2012.

I called HO but they have not given any information but advised me to write to the concerned office for information. I have sent letter requesting information along with pre-paid special delivery envelope with new address, but till date no reply has come. I am extremely worried that my documents may get lost in post. I also changed my new address with HO but still I have no clue as to what is happening.

The way the HO work is just insane....u cant describe it in words...u wont get any sort of info no matter what....until 6 months has passed which is ridiculous considering the amount of money we paid them...Its hard to tell in your case...but i have found MP helped others...may b its worth considering getting your MP involved. Because you won't receive any sort of info regardless otherwise...apparently u can request for your PP for ID purpose and this doesn't affect your application...may b this is a quicker option for u at least u will get an idea if they still have your passport/docs..
In my case its a matter of praying and waiting nothing else I can do,....I have called them for update but still they won't give me a clue....so phone calls to them is a waste of money

Congratulations!! At least your wait is over. When did you receive it? By 11'o'clock post? Did you send any expedite letter? How do you ask for PP for ID? will it not cause withdrawal of application? Did they send by signed for delivery?

well i found that u can request for your PP for id purposes only without affecting your application process...I didnt send any letter ...the postman dropped it at my neighbour..

I have same case as yours, did you receive biometric letter since you phoned them, pls can you provide timeline.

I have applied on 3rd march but still havent received anything. I spoke to helpline on 14th June and explained situation, they said same thing that they will sent letter within 10 working days.

I phoned them again on yesterday and they said it has been sent on 15th june, but still waiting.

pls can you advise.

To be clear -was 23rd the date of receipt of ack letter or the date on the ack letter?

What was the type of application used, I mean Set(M) or Set(O)?
