In progress means they are looking at it.

We were expecting a decision last week, but when I phoned today it's still in progress :-( A week on Wednesday will take us up to 20 weeks waiting for what we were told was a straightforward application. This might mean we loose the opportunity to open our new business :-(

I do agree I wish we had used the same day service. I'm telling all my friends to use it.

Still waiting too.. Regret going down the postal route, should have just used PEO service. Would have saved the stress and could have booked our holiday which is now on hold :(

@nashpope
We did our biometrics at the same time as you, which probably means we should hear around the same time.

I pushed as hard as I could on the phone but they wouldn't give me any kind of indication :-(

Let's hope it's soon as the stress is getting unbareable. I keep on thinking is it taking so long because they are going to say no? If so what will we do? I want my child to be born here and have the support of extended family. We don't have that in Istanbul :-(

First of all I would like to thank all the members of Immigration Board who wholeheartedly help others with valuable knowledge. Further I thought of sharing my time line for ILR SET (O) application for the benefit of other members on this forum.

10/03/2014 - Application posted via courier
11/03/2014 - Application received.
13/03/2014 - Application fee went out from my account.
17/03/2014 - Acknowledgment letter received from UKBA.
24/03/2014 - Biometrics letter received. Biometrics details given on the same day evening.
14/07/2014 - BRP received.
Awaiting docs ......

Hi All awaiting.

Applied via checking service 27 March

Letter from HO 7 April

Biometrics 17 April

As I urgently need to travel to my country, I have sent a letter to HO with a request to expedite the application with all the explanations, however they do not acknowledge the receipt of the letter. I have sent it by recorded delivery and it clearly was delivered to them 2 weeks ago. Anyone advice on what to do next?

Another question: can I still leave the UK or will they cancel my application as soon as I leave? I have my passport as its been returned at checking service. The plan is then when BP issued a relative will bring it to me so I can return to UK, provided they don't cancel my application.

Thanks in advance.

I would have said 18 weeks, but as when I rang yesterday they said our application is still being processed it looks like the whole process is getting slower AGAIN!

A week tomorrow is 20 weeks for us :-(

Yep! We would really like to go and see family before our first child is born. I have 6.5 weeks left in which I am allowed to fly, so we are cutting it fine! We are also on a deadline to sign the papers for our new cafe.

I hope it's just been a temporary hitch and we all hear very soon.

Totally understand how it feels. I booked and then cancel my holidays to USA to see my mother. So sad about that..!
Well I really hope that this week is ours...!
Fingers crossed.
Update here when you get your BRP.
Good luck.

Hi all,

I have been watching this board for the past six weeks or so and it gave me that "maybe tomorrow" hope... thanks for that. Loud knock on the door woke me up this morning - worth it as it was my BRP!

4 March - applied via post
19 March - Biometrics letter received
20 March - Biometrics submitted
...Long pause...
17 July - BRP received, waiting for documents

So, just over 19 weeks? My last BRP actually expired on February 22 but since our bank took their sweet time sending me our statements, I ended up applying late but within a 4 week grace period (not well advertised but told over the phone). Would not recommend sending in late if you can help it as it makes you an overstayer and potentially not have the right to appeal if the application is rejected for any reason. In the end, a massive relief!

Good luck to everyone here. It will come.

Ally

Congratulations!!!! We applied about the same time as you, but didn't get invited for our biometrics until after you. Do you mind me asking how you paid? We paid by cheque and my theory is that it's delayed us by about a week compared to those who applied at the same time.

Hi askim, I dnt think paying by cheque delays ur application. Because I paid by cheque and the payment went through 4 days after they received my application. And I got my approval around 18 weeks later. I hope u will get urs very soon. All the very best.-)
