Did you send it by recorded delivery? If not-then it gets more difficult, if yes- check with Royal Mail when it was delivered to HO and who signed by. It took me around 2 weeks to receive reply from them, which was a "no" anyway.

It all seemed to be too good to be true when I got my approval letter. Now, 10 working days past and I still don't have my BRP. Got to contact them again. Arrrrrr!

Hiya,

Looks like we're in a bit of a race here...

Application sent: 18/07/2014
Payment taken: 22/07/2014
Confirmation dated: 22/07/2014
Biometrics letter: 09/08/2014
Biometrics done: 11/08/2014
Watch this space: ...

I'm hoping it's on or before the 18 weeks most people are saying on these forums... I've got a holiday home to Aus booked for January 15. Took a bit of a gamble with that, figuring Ancestry would be pretty straightforward.

I just wanted to reinforce for anyone who is going to apply from now:
Please make sure your SET form is the latest updated one available on the UKBA website.

I just called them today to find out that they are again rejecting my application as invalid and issuing me with a refund, but this time it is because the form I sent was the one date April 2014. They've updated the form on June 2014 so make sure you print this one.

I'm devastated... One again more delays in my application process. I have to start the process all over again!

Good Luck to all of you.

Hi

ILR was sent off last Wednesday VIA local council document checking service.

The payment was taken on Monday.

I was just wondering when we would get our confirmation letter.

Cheers.

I just contacted the Home Office regarding my Set O postal application submitted in mid-April. They told me they are still processing March applications and they are unable to give any indication of when they will move on to April applications.

Just wanted to share the information in case anyone else has applied in March/April.

Yes I sent it by recorded delivery and fax as well.
Date of further documents request: 8 August - date on HO letter 06/08/2014.
MP received email from HO 11/08/2014 – Saying a decision will be made once all documents are received and check by HO.
Date of further documents request was sent to HO - 12/08/2014 - received by HO 13/08/2014.
STILL AWAITING ON DECISION.

Good news...Got ILR today
Timelines are as under:

SET (O) Application
Dependents: 3
Date of application: 04/04/2014
Application Received at HO: 07/04/2014
Acknowledgement Letter Received: 13/04/2014
Biometrics Invitation: 23/04/2014
Biometrics Enrolled: 02/05/2014
Approval letter received: 15/08/2014
Approval Date: 14/08/2014
BRP still awaiting

Few points if they can help:
1- Payment method was Debit Card and I donot think it matters much as long as there is money in account.
2- Biometrics enrolled about 28 days after application, still decision in 21st week, so does not matter
3- Absence Letter . I am salaried person and I just sent applicant letter explaining absence from UK and attached all my contract letters, there were gaps of few days between jobs but it did no matter . I was away for 68 days.
Finally they are now looking through April applications so cheer up..yours time is coming.... :D

ILR SET (M) application
Used visa checking service 19th April 2014 was my appointment date.
Funds taken 22nd April.
Received visa confirmation 9th Aug 2014
Residents permit received today.

Highly recommend using the checking service and taking every document possible with you to the appointment, it is quicker and for the price they make sure it's all 100% correct.

I've waited 10 years for this moment and want to wish you all the very best, think positive and when you least expect it to arrive in the post, it will! Good luck everyone x

Hi
I submitted my ilr-set(o) application on 28-apr-14 with biometrics given on 17-may-14. It has been over 3 months and still have not heard anything from HO.
Does anyone know the reason as I am not sure if the recent passport surge adds to this issue as I was told that HO could have redeployed their staff to resolve passport issues and priortize passports over visas.

They say most ILR applications are taking up to six months now. I'm in the middle of waiting and it's terrible! When I applied for visa renewals previously, it never took more than three months to process. This longer wait means I'm in limbo even longer, unable to make any travel plans and worrying all the time.

I would highly recommend you apply in person using the expedited service if you can afford to do so. I regret not doing it!

Well, amazingly received the approval letter now just as I was looking at Kiwirazz's post and thought to myself that it'll arrive this week. I always knew I had psychic powers, but it still amazes me to see them at work. Anyway, I jest.

ILR SET(M)
Applied via checking service, which I would highly recommend if you're not going for the same-day service. The lady at the council was really friendly and also very helpful in picking the right letters and documents and getting rid of the ones that aren't required.

However, to anyone applying now, I'd say find the extra £400 and go for the same-day service. I wish I had done that and would've had a much more enjoyable summer. Citizenship application next (up to 6 months again) -_-'

Date of application: 22/04/2014

Approval letter received: 18/08/2014
Approval Date: 16/08/2014
BRP still waiting (approval letter says within the next 7 days)

Praise the FSM.

Finally I too can share some good news :)

My ILR has been approved. Application type was SET(O) Tier 2; 5 years Work Permit category. Applied on the 23rd of December '13. Biometrics submitted on the 27th of January '14. ILR approved on the 15th of August '14, after a wait of 7 months and 23 days. Was a very straight forward application. No dependents.

I used to check this forum a zillion times. Going back to old posts and wondering if anyone has been waiting for as long as I have. Well anyway , it's all over now. :)

Good luck to all those who are still waiting.

Set M - our dates so far:

Application via checking service 15th July 2014
Acknowledgement Letter dated 17 July 2014
Biometrics Letter dated 1st August recd. 6th August 2014
Biometrics done 7th August 2014
next....

Had I read peoples' comments here before making the application, I would certainly have used the same-day service.
