ILR success @ CROYDON on 16/05/2015 TIER 1 general route

Post by kommsu » Sun May 17, 2015 11:48 am

Hi Guys,

I would like to share my successful ILR application (SALARY + company Director dividends) on 16/05/2015 at Croydon tier 1 general 5 year route .

Appointment 16th May 2015( Croydon - 8:30 AM)
1) Tier 1 Visa with dependent
2) Went to the center at 7:55 am. I was the 5th person in the counter , waited to be called at security till 8.05 and then allowed in. They have given token at 8.15 am, took all my documents , and completed biometrics (by 8:30).
Biometric person informed us , that case will go to the case worker @ 9am as they start at that time.
We were waiting at cafeteria and our case turned under review @ 9.05 am and ready for collection at 10:50 am (took long time as we have give lot of documents which are not required).
We were out from lunar building at 11:10 am :).

Note : we have not submitted any Naric letters (for our India university masters degree) from KOLL , just PBS tier 2 print outs and selected below two options under 4.3
-> An academic qualification deemed by uk naric to meet the recognised standard of a bachelor's or master's degree or PhD in the United Kingdom and :
-UK NARIC has confirmed that the qualification was taught or researched in ENglish;

I have overall 200 holidays in 5 years ( 2 business trips (21 days + 15 days) + personal holidays) . I have not provided any proof of evidence except a cover letter explains holidays.

Regarding my documentation
I have attached all the documents below (end of the message).

I hope this will help , and let me know if you need any details.

Letter from GP .

Hi ,

Could you please let me know how to get this letter. I called my GP they said I can draft on a paper and walkin so they put stamp on it.

also called Home office today they told Naric letter is not needed but some Case workers do ask for that...so I am confused.

Cheers

Hi Nikki,

If your GP asks you for letter prepare it and ask them to sign and stamp it , but I got a letter from GP saying that .. We confirm that MR XXXXXX and his spouse XXX has been registered with us from date XXXXXXXXXXX .

Regarding English language if you still have queries , just send your query in an email to "KnowledgeOfLifePolicyQueries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk" and you will get reply for them in 1 or 2 days , take a print out of this and submit with your documents as evidence (I did the same FYI ).

Hope this helps

Kommusu- I see you have mentioned that for english language- you have just attached PBS print out..I wanted to check.. is the PBS sufficient to prove equivalent and english both?

For my deg I see I get 10 points for English and I am assuming that the very fact that I can see my deg in the drop down implies it is equivalent to the UK Bachelors?

This is not my same deg which I will be using for my qualifications.

I had taken my tier1 in 2009- when one needed atleast a masters deg for qualifications

Thanks again for your repsonses. these are very helpful.

Hi Shah_pooja,

You can use PBS printout + original degree for english language requirement .
But why do you want to show 2 degrees ? , you can use same Masters which you used while intially applied for tier 1 right ?

Hi ierone_extension ,
Below are the clarifications as you requested , if you got salary from different sources add one more line in section 5.6 and sum it in total row .
All the numbers I have provided in in 5.6 are net numbers not gross

5.3 - I used 12 months net avg
For Ex : salary (24000 (net) after tax and NI ) + dividends (12000) / 12 =36000/12 = 3000 in that box

5.6 -

Income source interval received amount

XXX salary Monthly 24000
XXX Dividends Jan15,Mar15 (as twice I took) 12000

Hope this helps ..

Hi Kg_1218,

Tierone_extension,

1.12 BRP Refeence number or 2.3 BRP Reference Number
Is it BRP unique number in BRP card or what to write here pls?

1.12 is a type in form please read as BRP reference number it is same as 2.3 ( which is for dependent )
Yes ,write your unique BRP number there

After 11.5.4. (Page no: 65) If you have more than one dependent, please photocopy this section and enclose the photocopy with your application form.
Have you taken page 63, 64 and 65 print and attached with form for your second dependent? Or entire section pls?

I had only one dependent so , didn't use a copy , but this for extra dependent printout of 64 is enough , as this is to give information(pp details) of just extra dependent .

Hi there,

Congrats on the ILR ... well done

I wish to apply for ILR in July and have a query with regards to the English Language. On the home office website, the link for PBS does not show Tier 1 General hence I am not able to get an official confirmation that we are good for english requirement. Speaking with NARIC it appears that they need a letter from my university. I am somehow not convinced if I can get the letter why would I go to NARIC. Bottom line is we might not be able to get the university letter.

I used my masters degree in the original application back in 2010. For my wife we want to use Graduation Degree as her degree does not appear in the NARIC database (one can still check by pretending not to be tier 1 general)

https://www.points.homeoffice.gov.uk/gu ... ces#footer

Any suggestions here please?

Thanks,
Chetan

Hi Kg_1213,
We got our BRP on 27/05/2015 , forgot to update you.

Hi anIndianFamily ,
Did you check in pbs calculator for your wife qualification , if it awards 10 points you no need to worry(same for main applicant as well).

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Apparently in the PBS calculator the option for Tier 1 - General has been removed since April this year. I posted a related question in this forum and got feedback that people have been using the tier 2 to prove that the education was taught in English. Points is not a concern here.

Thanks,
Chetan

Re: ILR success @ CROYDON on 16/05/2015 TIER 1 general rout

Hi,
I have used tier-2 option (for me and my spouse) and got 10 points and submitted in my ILR application .
I have contacted UKVI for this before my application submission , and they have given answer below .
======================================
Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We will need to see evidence of your English language qualification, for both settlement and citizenship, even if you have submitted this previously.

You will see on page 16 of the ILR form in link below, that it asks if you have a degree qualification deemed by UKNARIC to be comparable to a UK degree and taught in English.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _04-15.pdf

The Home Office will accept a PBS printout providing you enter the calculator as tier 2 general (even if you were not) as Tier 1 general route is now closed(see our website for further details) and skip to the English language section, enter your degree details here. The PBS calculator is updated for our use by UKNARIC and therefore, providing you achieve 10 points on the calculator, then UKNARIC have deemed this acceptable to the Home Office.

https://www.gov.uk/english-language/degrees-in-english

If you don't receive 10 points, you will need to obtain a UK NARIC assessment.

Kind regards
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
Kommsu

Hi kommsu,
I have a very imp question regarding my ILR and your help would be greatly appriciated.
this is regarding absent from UK letter from employer.

during my 1st year in UK (included in 5yrs ILR qualifying duration) i went back to india to serve the notice period of my previous employer (to explain this further, i was full time ibm india employee then they send me to UK for full time employment on Tier-1 so i had to complete leaving formalities in india) stayed there 15 days after the last day of my previous job and then come back to UK to join another organisation here in UK.

Kindly help me how to present this scenario favourably in my application, "in case of change in employment during outside uk travel" your expertise on this matter would help greatly.

Many thanks
Seanpa

Hi,
I will be applying for ILR next year
I am bit confused about English language requirement in ukba site
Do i need to pass some English language Test or submit original degree certificate assuming that English language requirement is
already proved in Tier 1 -Genera Initial entry, Tier 1 -Genera -1st Extension and Tier 1 -2nd Extension application

Thanks and regards
Mohan

Hi,
@Bond_Boy,
I didn't pass any exam and my Indian degree was Masters , I have submitted the same in initial application, extension and in ILR , as long as your degree shows in PBS (Tier2/ Tier1(E) ) should be OK .
I have provided Tier-2 PBS printout , everything was OK and got my ILR .

@seanpa,
I hope 15 days doesnt matter , just mention in your cover letter family visit for that duration, no need to mention any other reason .

Let me know if you still have queries.

Thanks & Regards,
Kommsu
