I am not sure what this conversation is, but IF YOU ARE MARRIED TO A BRITISH CITIZEN, and you have the ILR, you will be eligible for the naturalization process. Please dont listen to anyone else because I just received the letter accepting my naturalization and to go to book for the ceremony. I got really scared when I read about that if you get your ILR through SET protection you cant apply for naturalization straight away. It is not true and check with the Home Office. You are correct, but the only exemption from that if you are married to aBC then you dont need to wait for 12 months as far as you can prove with your ILR your presence physically and lawfully in the UK for the last 3 years.... NCS went through the checklist when I applied and fullfiled their criteria.[/quote]

Sorry to disappoint you, but That is actually incorrect. While it is true that if you have been married to a British citizen, for at least 3 years, you can apply for citizenship straight away after being issued with ILR; [b]however[/b], your ILR needs to be obtained through the marriage route in which case it would be an an extention of the same citizenship route. You [u]CANNOT[/u] apply for citizenship straight after ILR that was obtained via the Protection Route (even though you may have been married to a British Citizen for the last 3 years). You can't switch from one citizenship path to another halfway through the process without making a formal request for change. My friend applied in November 2012, but she got turned down despite being married to a British citizen for the last 3 years. She was told her ILR was a refugee one.[u] IF[/u] she had obtained her ILR through the spouse route, then her application would have been processed as normal.[b][/b][b][/b]. Now she is waiting until she completes her 12 month period, i.e. till November 2013 to re-submit her application.[u][/u][/quote]

NCS have checked the docs and they have said it is fine to apply..

Totally agree, I got my ILR via SET Protection, and married to a British citizen, applied 2 weeks from ILR, got approved and had my ceremony and Passport Interview....
Serina you might need to have a chat with your freind why she was refused !!

Hello guys.just want to ask you forum members if you guys on Set(protection route ) pays the biometric fingerprint fee at the post office or did any of you ever win an appeal and did biometric free at post office? . You reply will be highly appreciated

Its seems to me for a long time set protection route members are sleeped since 31st july no body shared some information about good news or bed news from the home office.

Soon after receiving ILR (protection route) some people straightaway apply for citizenship. Here, Home Office has discretion to allow applications from people who do not meet 'immigration time restriction' or '12 months of the residential qualifying period'. Some people are approved and some people are refused. Below link will explain you why some applications are approved despite not waiting for ’12 months of the residential quality period’ after they got their ILR.

Hi,aminy! I‘ve found since July 2013 normally people receive
their ilr about one and a half months after the biometric
enrolment. Hopefully you will receive yours soon.

It seems that the 12 week max of last year is no longer applicable now.

I wonder if the whole passport fiasco in Liverpool is affecting us too?

in.Actually,I‘m also a new comer. Last year the longest waiting time is 9 months.Hopefully this year it won‘t be so long before everyone gets ilr.
asazi,you‘re right. Towards the end of 2013,it seemed that the home office speeded up their processing.Nearly every forum friend got ilr within 3 months.Now from your example,we can see they slow down again.

Good morning all. I come bearing good news. I got a royal mail misses delivery note yesterday. Just came from the sorting office. IT ARRIVED! !!! My docs and approval letter dated 3 July. My brp will be delivered by DX separately. So that's 16 weeks in total, 14 weeks after biometrics. Soon it will be your turn.

Hi everyone,

I have applied for IRL SET (Protection) Route and after 17 weeks I haven't got my ILR.

My details are:

Application 8 March 2014
Reply with biometric letter 19 March 2014
Biometrics done and sent same day 20 March 2014

Now it's 9th June (over 4 months) and I'm starting to get worried that they might have lost my documents.

What do you suggest? Is 4 months normal? Or should I contact them?
