You basically need your employer to state these things on a company letterhead, signed by your HR manager, or anybody with authority:

1. The SOC code applicable to your job
2. The salary you are paid p.a.
3. Confirmation that your salary is at the level or above the appropriate salary applicable to your SOC code
4. Period when you started work with them
5. All the paid leaves taken
6. Confirmation that you are still required for the job

Do you have to provide details for paid leaves while absent from UK or all leaves taken while in UK aswell i,e for the whole 5 year period being in + out of UK ?

Can the employer letter be dated before 1 month applying ? or did you get it dated in the last month before applying ?

Your employer would generally list all the leaves taken as paid leave. I'm guessing they would simply download it from your company's leave system. It's probably better if you get a letter dated not more than one calendar month from the date of your appointment.

I provided this letter, along with my own cover note, where I broke down my out of UK leaves into 5 years, showing the number of days I was out of the UK each year.

Hi Nikhil,
I am concern about the wording in the job letter from my employer. Here it is:

"As per the enclosed contract of employment, dated 31st July 2008, Mr Desai has been employed by xxxxxxx since 1st August 2008 as a Teacher in our xxxxxxxxxxx , and remains in this position today."

I am just worried about the word where it says today.
What do you think?????

It needs to state your SOC code, your rate of pay, and confirm the points below.

1. That your pay is at the level or above the rate for your SOC code
2. That you are still required for the job

Ask your employer to explicitly state that they still need you for the job and would be continuing your employment.
