Has the form/ guidance changed again in May after 6 April 2015 ?
ukvisahopeful wrote:Hi everyone/moderators,

As the guidance has changed recently and the form changed MAY 2015 ! please can anyone provide the specific guidance links from UKBA/gov.uk that underline the exact requirements/documentation needed (cohabitation etc.) for dependents when applying ILR at the same time as the main applicant (ie Dependents-child and spouse)

Can I also ask what is the difference between SET(M) and wife as PBS dependent???

Many thanks in advance for the response.

Apart from the above as my passport which had my initial entry stamp is not available, I provided additional documents to prove that I have been in the UK from past 5 years. Following are the list:
UKBA enquiry and confirmation letter that my passports are dispatched (Passports were lost during my initial T1 extension applied by Post).

I was worried about the loss of passport and also applied for SAR, but could not get any information. I also did not have any copies of the passport stamps (Initial entry). Now I am relieved :D :D

Thank you all once again.. & good luck all future applicants.

Congrates!

Why do you need to provide;
NARIC language assessment letters ?
NARIC equivalent assessment letters ?

if you your degree is from the UK? Do we neeed to provide NARIC equivalency letter etc ?

This is just to make my application easier, I see lot of other successful people going with Tier2 PBS calculator.

Not sure about this, my degree is from India.

If you have a degree from the UK, you do not need to provide a NARIC assessment. The point of the NARIC assessment is for comparison to a UK degree and as such, overseas degrees taught or researched in English need to be compared to the UK equivalent.

Congratulations on your ILR.

I have a few questions as I have PEO appointment next week at Liverpool. Can you post up your experience at Liverpool PEO, where you parked, the layout of PEO at Liverpool etc...

I was deciding to fill in the form electronically, but having read some posts on this forum, it seems like they prefer hand filled forms instead. I contacted the HO and was informed it the form says complete in capitals letters and black ink, that is what I need to do. From your experience, it seems like the electronically completed form was not an issue.

Hi WR1,

There is a parking in Capital Building. Before you get there, you will see Home Office in the right side. After security check, you get queue number and wait. If you have kids, you can bring food, snack, tablets... for them to enjoy.
There was no problem with form electronically and my friend also did the same. It looks better and easy for staff to have a look your details.

Good luck for your ILR.

hi all- Finally I have got my approval. many thanks to everyone on the forum who helped with tips on how to get the appointments..to put only from date/put a date exactly = 42nd date from current date/leave the dates blank.. to the English requirements..thank you all very much

- Tier 1 G category
- Croydon PEO

- I had also booked my appointment before the price hike and then had to reschedule once. They dont even ask anything about fees..so paying old fees is ok
- Left the payment sheet blank other than writing my name and other details
- They check that you filled the latest form

Appointment for Croydon PEO- 940 AM

I went via London Bridge. The PEO is I think 5-7 min walk from the station (East Croydon) and there were lot of directions for the PEO on the way..so one cannot get lost.

Documents
- Set O form
- Payment sheet
-Appointment confirmation sheet
-Life in Uk
-For english language-
as long as your deg appears in the PBS drop down you should be ok
so i took the PBS copy( tier 2 g)
and also my deg certificate
it gave me 10 points
- 12 months payslip
-12 months bank statement for payroll
-To be safe, I took the copy of bank statement which showed the fees payment
-One bank statement showing funds in my account
-For qualification- I checked- documents submitted earlier-hence not included with application and also UK NARIC option for qualification (what I had done during my initial Tier1 VISA)
-Company letter telling how many paid leaves I am entitled to
-Company letter for my business trips
-One hand written letter from me listing all my trips outside UK and reasons for visit

Total time I think was two hours, within two hours I was out of the building.

I dont think they strictly enforce the time, my appointment was for 940, but I think I had reached by 915ish..and they allowed me in.
And I was done by 1130 I think. I would say sooner we go the better.

Thanks again..

Just like to post my experience as my other half had the ILR approved today :D

Category: SET(M)
Number of dependents 0
Total cost £1493
PEO branch Liverpool

I booked for an early appointment on the experience of others of this forums and it was a good choice. Appointment was at 08:30AM. The appointment times IMO are irrelevant as they don't make much of a difference. Its on a first come, first serve basis as we had the first appointment but the second ticket in queue so were served second.

Set off early this morning (which is a one hour drive) at 6am so I could avoid the rush hour traffic taking into consideration this was just after a bank holiday weekend. Arrived at 7am. I parked on Pall Mall (not the car park), opposite the Mercedes showroom as along most of this road, it was free parking. Even at this time , most of the spaces had gone but managed to find one, saved paying £10-£15 NCP parking and even the local £5 all day parking. Where I park was just under a 10 minute walk to the premium service centre.

Liverpool PEO doesn't open until 08:30am. The Gov website states 8am opening time. Security wouldn't allow entrance until 08:30 when we arrived at 8am so had to wait for half an hour outside. So the info on the gov website is incorrect. If your PEO appointment is at Liverpool, do not arrive before 08:30am. Nobody else was being admitted either.

08:30am - Security check in
08:40am - Ticket taken (second in line)
09:00am - Documents checked and submitted
09:35am - Call for Biometrics
09:45am - Biometrics done and waiting period
11:15am - Call for documents and approval

Documents submitted:

1. Appointment Booking
2. Payment Confirmation
3. Completed form SET(M)
4. Passports (mine and spouse) & Photos
5. Decree Absolute
6. Accommodation Letter
7. Employment details, P60 and last 4 months Pay Slips with Bank Statements (Jan 2015 - Apr 2015)
8. LIUK Pass Notification
9. English B1 (Cambridge ESOL SfL Entry 3)
10. Cohabitation Documents (last 2 years spread over 3-4 months)

Keep the file as simple as possible and do not overwhelm it with too many documents. Submit only what is essential.

I also submitted photocopies of all documents and these were all taken from me. I kept an additional folder with everything else and other documents just in case they had asked but never submitted these. I used a flexible ring binder and used section dividers to separate my documents with a contents page at the beginning. I also electronically typed the application form and this was not an issue. I was called over to clarify couple of points on the application form and these were explained, as a result, I feel the PEO is a better option as to the convenience of clarifying any information with the case worker over a postal application.

Paid only £1493. I booked before the fee increase to avoid paying the £407 fee hike with a view of re-schedule and this was not an issue. There was no mention of paying the old fee.

In total, taken 3 hrs and 15 minutes since entering building. Ours was the first approval of the day even though out ticket was second in line. Better to go for early appointment time as you get done quicker as then you are not joining the queue to other people waiting for their documents submission and biometrics.

Just a word of advice, I had my other half take the LIUK within six months of her arriving in the UK (on a 2 year spouse visa) as well doing the English B1 test in late 2014. The LIUK does not expire and can be used indefinitely and its best it this is cleared long before you apply for ILR. Even take it 5 years beforehand, its one tick box done. I've read about too many people who have left this till the last minute (I cannot comprehend WHY?) and then the stress of not clearing the test either due to not passing first time, not getting to the test centre on time, not having the right documents, not getting booking date etc...) and then having to apply for an extension in order to clear the test. It's an expensive mistake to make and even more expensive when you factor in the health surcharge. If you have a few years left, please do test the LIUK done NOW.

Overall the PEO was a good experience. I have been previously married so have gone through the process before, however, used a postal application last time round. The PEO in my opinion is definitely worth the extra £400 (actually worked out cheaper than the postal application as I would have paid £1500 with the new fees).

Hi All,

Allahmduallah, I also got my ILR approved, thanks a lot to the members of this forum.

My case was:

I first came to uk in April 2009 was here for two weeks and left, as it was not good time to move :)
I came back again in June 2010 and since then, I have been living continuously in UK.

The only complication in my case was: I was permanent employee until first week of March 2015 and then switched to contracting.
I had 4 years of P60 and P45 covering till first week of March 2015(financial year 2014/15) but as I got my company registered in march and things were in early stage, HMRC did not have my details in their system after March 2015.[they had my details until firs week of March 2015]

So to prove I am financial active, I got my current contract + letter from accountant stating details about my current contract including the daily rate and also the possibility of getting contract extended.

Process was smooth, as most of the guys have already shared. only suggestion, please book early appointment.

I booked my appointment @ 8:40 and left HO around @ 11:00, there was big queue outside, I am not sure,if there were applicant for ILR as well in the queue.

I will more than happy, if my experience can help someone.

Regards,
Hussain

I have attended croydon PSC and got the ILR approved..now waiting for BRP

Tier 1 General Route

Documents:
passport
BRP cards
12 months payslips , Bank statements
Employer Letter absences - current and previous + personal letter
5 years P60
Life in the UK letter (main and dep)
Degree certificate and university letter (from english speaking country) + PBS tier 2 printout (same for dep)
marriage cert
cohabitation docs (random for past two years)

Took about 3hrs+ (we went out and missed the collection announcement)

They took all my photocopies, including those for cohabitation

Suggest to book appointment early since there is a backlog in the afternoon and was told that "IT issues" usually happen in the afternoon

We went out for lunch at the shopping center across the road while waiting. There is a costa in the PSC but overpriced and slow service (only one worker with a long queue of customers)

Hi Everyone

I am a silent reader of this forum and benefitted alot. Here is my ILR story

I applied as a Tier 2 Self employed and got the ILR. I also had an employment gap and my sponsor withdrawn my sponsorship a bit earlier than actual employment end date on P45. Settlement policy guys helped a lot here and advised that 60 days period will start from actual employment end date on P45 or employer letter.

If anybody have any question please let me know.
